AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM
R-2 to C-1 ; CHANGING THE ZONINC MAP ACCORDINGLY; COMPLYING
WITH pRDINANC� N0. 774 OF THE GITY OF FRI�NQSWOOD KNOWN AS
THE ZONING ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Friendswood Zoning
Commission conducted a public hearing on the 15th day of November� 1973
to consider the question of rezoning of the hereinafter described tract
of land f rom R-2 to C-1; and
WNEREASb the hearing was duly called as provided by the laws of
the State of Texas and Ordinance Pdo. 174 of the City of Friendswood, and
at sueh hearing all persons attending were al]owed to be heard on the
question of whether or not the rezoning of the tract from R-2 to C-1 would
affect the public healthy safety� morals, convenience or general welfare
and whether or not such rezoning would violate the rights of any interested
persons;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIPdED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1. That the zoning of the fo11o���ing described property
be and the same is hereby changed from R-2 to C-1 within the meani�ng of the
Zoning Ordinance:
A 3.3576 Acre Tract out of Lot 9, Block 2, Friendswood Subdivision,
in the Sarah McKissick or J. R, Williams League, Galveston
County, Texas.
Al1 that certain 3.3576 acre tract of land out of Lot 9, Block 2,
Friends��ood Subdivision according to the plat of said Subdivision
recorded in Volume 254-A, page 18, in the Office of the County
Clerk of Galveston County� Texas„ said 3.3576 acre tract more
particularl,y described by metes and bounds as fo1lows:
COMMEPdCIP�G at the South corner of said Lot 9� 67ock 2;
THEMCE N 45° W wit�, the Southwest line of said Lot 9, Block 2,
a]so being the centerline of F. M. Highway No. 518, a distance
of 990 feet to a point;
THENG� N 45° E a distance of 40 feet to a point on the Northeast
right-of-way line of F..M. High�vay No. 518, and being the South
corner and PLACE OF BEuINNING of the tract herein described;
THENCE continuing N 45° E, and parallel with the Southeast 1ine
of said Lot 9, a distance of 554.0 feet to a point for corner
in the Southwest right-of-��ay of hlorningside Drive;
THENCE N 45° W, along the Southwest right-of-way line of Morning-
side Drive and parallel with the Southwest line of said Lot 9
a distance of 264 00 feet t� a point for corner:
THENCE S 45° !�. parallel with the Southeast 7ine of Lot 9, a
distance of 554.00 feet to a point for corner, said corner
bei ng on the PJortheas t ri ght-of-t�vay �i ne of F.P�1. Hi ahwa.y 518�
THENCE S 45° E alona sai� right-of-wav line and paral�e1 with
the Southwest line of Lot 9, a distance of 264.0 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING-
CONTAINING 3.3576 acres of land_ more or less.
Section 2. That the official zoning map of the City be revised
to show the tract rezoned from R-2 to C-1 and the date of fina1 passage
of this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall in no wise reduce, amend, supple-
ment or change any provision of any ordinance of the City of Friendswood
other than to accomplish the rezoning of the tract described in Section 1
herein from R-2 to C-1 and impose the findings and limitations ordained
herein.
