AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD
TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 174 (ZONING ORDINANCE); GRANTING
A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR OIL WELL DRILLING AND RELATED STRUCTURES
BY CROWN CENTRAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION; ACCEPTING AND ADOPTING
THE FINDINGS OF THE PLANNING AND ZOfdING COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE
OF TEXAS, that:
WHEREAS, the question of granting a Special Use Permit in this ordinance
was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission to hold a public hearing
thereon; and
WHEREAS, such a pubTic hearing was held, after due public notice, in
the manner provided by Ordinance PJo. 174 of the City of Friendswood and by
the statutes of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has made a report, contain-
ing findings of fact and recommending the tranting of such Specific Use Permit:
NOW, THE�EFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Friendswood, State of Texas:
A Specific Usey according to the authorizations and limitations set
forth in Section 9 of Ordinance No. 174 is hereby granted to the Crown Central
Petroleum Corporation to drill an oil well and construct related structures
on the premises described as:
Lot 13 out of Section 5 of the BS&F Survey A-625, Ga1veston County,
Texas: Begin at the southwest corner of a tract of land known as Lot
13 of the George Van Pelt Subdivision out of the Beatty, Seale, and
Forwood Survey No. 5y Abstract 625, Galveston County, Texas; said
beginning point bearing South 87° 56' 21" East a distance of approxi-
mate1y 270� feet from the intersection of the North line of the
American Cana1 Company 150 ft. Easement and the East 1ine of State
F.M. Highway 528. Thence from said point of beginning South 87° 56'
East a distance of 543.3ft. ; Thence North 2° 4' East a distance of
801 .9 ft. ; Thence North 87° 56' West a distance of 543.3 ft.; Thence
South 2° 4' West a distance of 801 .9 ft. to p1ace of beginning and
containing 10 acres of land, more or less.
such property presently existing in an R-1 district� and such Specific Use
is subject to the fo1lo��ing conditions:
(a) Such Specific Use Permit shall not a11ow a violation or variation
from other ordinances of the City of Friendswood pertaining to
building permits, construction requirements, or other provisions
set forth in Ordinance No. 174; and
(b} The Lundy Lane access is to be left in as good or better condition
than at the present time. Requirements for road repairs are to be
approved by the City Manager on beha1f of the City.
The findings and recommendations of the Planning and Zoning Commission
on the question of granting a Specific Use Permit to the Crown Central
Petroleum Corporation are hereby accepted and adopted and made a part of
this ordinance.
