HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 188-E f - ORDINANCE N0. 188-E AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO PROVIDE CONCRETE SU��'ACING ALONG SUNSET ACROSS COWARDS CREEK; TO PROVIDE CULVERTS ACROSS SUNSET ON COWARDS CREEK; TO PROVIDE FOR THE CORRECTION OF DRAINAGE PROBLEMS IN THE EL DORADO AND ANNALEA SUBDIVISIONS; SOURCE OF FUNDS TO BE USED; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION I . There is hereby declared to exist a public emergency caused by a natural disaster, more specifically flood water occurring on or about June 12, 1973, which caused flooding of residences 1ocated in the vicinity of Coward's Creek, and the E1 Dorado and Annalea Subdivisions, requiring that this ordinance be adopted and passed as an emergency this 16th day of July, 7973. SECTION II. The following sums are hereby appropriated for the purpose of making the specific improvements: $5,500.00 For concrete surfacing along Sunset, across Coward's Creek $2,550.00 For culverts across Sunset on Coward's Creek $1 ,000.00 To correct emergency drainage problems in the E1 Dorado Subdivision by adding culverts under a rice canal . $ 500,00 To correct emergency drainage problems in Annalea Subdivision by cleaning drainage ditch and adding one drainage pipe at the end of Virginia Lane to the existing drainage ditch. SECTION III . The sums so appropriated are to be paid from the Revenue Sharing unobligated funds on hand and unappropriated. SECTION IV. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, sub-section, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not effect the remaining portions of this ordinance. SECTION V. CONFLICT WITH OTHER ORDINANCES. Any ordinance or part thereof which is in conflict with any provision of this ordinance is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict only.
