AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONING OF CERTAIN TRACTS FROM R-1
TO R-2; CHANGING THE ZONING MAP ACCORDINGLY; COMPLYING WITH
SECTION 15 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 174 OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD
KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS;
RESTRICTING ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE
OF TEXAS:
That, WHEREAS the City Council finds that the Friendswood Zoning
Commission conducted a public hearing on the 26th day of April , 1973 to consider
the question of rezoning the hereinafter described tracts of land from R-1
to R-2; and,
WHEREAS, the hearing was duly called, as provided by the laws of the
State of Texas and Section 15 of Ordinance 174 of the City of Friendswood,
and at such hearing, all persons attending were allowed to be heard as to the
question of whether or not the rezoning of the tracts from R-1 to R-2 would
affect the public health, safety, morals , convenience or general welfare and
whether or not the rezoning of the tracts from R-1 to R-2 would affect the
public health, safety, morals, convenience or general welfare and whether or
not such rezoning would violate the rights of any interested persons;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1 . That the zoning of the following described property be
and the same is hereby changed from R-1 to R-2 within the meaning of the
Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance 174) :
Tract 1 - 5.983 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey, Abstract 184,
Galveston County, Texas. Located east of Sunmeadow Golf Course and south of
Sunmeadow Boulevard with the most easterly corner 232.66' west of F.M. 528 as shown
on the attached map in red.-
Tract 2 - 4.066 acres of land, being all of reserve "B", Sunmeadow,
Section 2. Out of the Mary Sloan Survey, Abstract 184, Galveston County, Texas.
Tract 3 - 3.12 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey, Abstract 184.
Being all of reserve "A" of proposed Sunmeadow, Section 4.
, Tract 4 - .648 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey, Abstract 184,
Galveston County, Texas. Located on the east side of Dorado Drive at the south-
east corner of Sunmeadow, Sec. 1 , replat.
Tract 5 - .756 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey, Abstract 184,
Galveston County, Texas. Located on Dorado Drive approximately 108' south of
West Castle Harbour Drive as shown in red on the attached map.
Tract 6 - .539 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey. Abstract
184, Galveston County, Texas , located at the southeast corner of Sunmeadow
Boulevard at East Castle Harbour Drive.
Tract 7 - .88 acres of land out of the Mary Sloan Survey. Abstract 184,
Galveston County, Texas. Located on the south side of Sunmeadow Boulevard with
the northeast corner of the tract 197.42' - west of F.M. 528 shown on the attached
map.
Section 2. That the official zoning map of the City be revised to
show the tract rezoned from R-1 to R-2 and the date of final passage of this
ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall in no wise reduce, amend, supplement
or change any provision of any ordinance of the City of Friendswood other
than to accomplish the rezoning of the tract described in Section 1 herein
from R-1 to R-2 and impose the findings and limitations ordained herein.
