HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 86 ORDINANCE NO. -76 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City of Friendswood, for the year nineteen hundred and sixty-seven ( 1967 ) , upon all property; real personal and mixed, within the corporate limits of said City subject to taxation; a tax of ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR on each ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) DOLLARS valuation of property, said property valuation shall be SIXTY (60%) PERCENT of actual market value, based upon the present tax roll, said tax keing so levied for the specific purposes herein set forth: (1) For the maintenance and support of the general govern- ment. ( General Fund ) . (2) For the retirement and expenses of the Municipal Utilities Bonds. ( Interest and Sinking Fund ) . SECTION TWO: All monies collected under this ordinance for the specific items herein named, that the Assessor and Collector of taxessn the City Treasurer and the City Secretary shall keep an account so as to readily and distinctly show the amount on hand at any time belonging to such fund; it is here- by made the duty of the Tax Assessor and Collector of taxes and every person collecting money for the City of Friendswood, to deliver to the City Treasurer and the City Secretary at the time of depositing any monies, a statement showing such deposits) have been made and from what source received. PASSED and APPROVED ON first reading the 15th day of August., A.D, 1966. PASSED and APPROVED ON second reading the 6th day of September, A.D. 1966.
