PROVIDING A SEVER- ABILITY CLAUSE AND A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate, or cause to be driven or operated, any motor vehicle weighing, loaded or unloaded, in excess of Seven Thousand Five Hundred (7, 500 lbs. ) pounds onto or across the Castlewood Bridge in the City of Friendswood, Texas. Section Z. Any person violating the terms of Section 1, above, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and assessed a fine of not less than TEN AND N0/100 ($10. 00) DOLLARS nor more than TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200. 00) DOLLARS. Section 3. If any clause, phrase or sentence of this ordinance shall be determined to be unconstitutional or void, such determination shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions�of same. Section 4. A public emergency is hereby declared to exist due to the weakened condition of the Castlewood Bridge rendering the bridge a safety hazard to vehicle traffic not in keeping with the provisions of Section 1, above. z5 PASSED as an emergency ordinance, this day of , I 1966.
