HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 66 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR DE-ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY IN AND AROUND SUNSET DRIVE, AS SET FORTH IN ARTICLE 973-VERNON'S TEXAS ANNOTATED STATUTES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD: Section One: Whereas the City Council of the City of Friendswood deems it advisable and to the best interest of the City of Friends- wood to -de-annex the. tract. of land in and around Sunset Drive, as set forth in Article 973-Vernon' s Texas Annotated Statutes. Section Two: The following property is hereby de-annexed from the City of Friendswood, to-wit: A Tract of land out of the Friendswood Subdivision of the J. R. Williams or Sarah McKissick`League of Galveston y County, Texas , described by metes and bounds as follows , to-wit: BEGINNING on the Southwest line of Friendswood Sub- division, which line is also the dividing line between the Friendswood Subdivision and the Central Park Sub/ division, at a point where said dividing line intersects the Southeast Right of Way line of Farm to Market High- way 2351, also known as the West Friendswood, or Choate Road, and being known and designated by the City of Friendswood as Edgewood Avenue; THENCE, in an Northeast direction, along the Southeast boundary line of said Farm to Market Highway 2351 a distance of 40 feet; THENCE, Southeast, parallel with the Southwest line of Friendswood Subdivision, and at all points 40 feet Northeast of said Southwest boundary line of the Friends- wood Subdivision, said line continuing across Cowards Creek to a point in the Northwest line of Lot 6 Block 5 Friendswood; THENCE, South 44059'45" East and parallel with the Southwest boundary line of the Friendswood Subdivision, 183. 88 feet to the P. C. of a curve to the left; THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction and with said Curve to the left having a Radius of 383. 33 feet, a Central Angle of 26034'53", 177. 84 feet to the point of Tangency; THENCE, South 71034' 38" East and with said Tangent, 40.58 feet to the P. C. of a Curve to the right; THENCE, with said Curve to the right having a Radius of 473. 15 feet, a Central angle of 26000 ' 00" , 214. 71 feet to the point of Tangency of said curve; THENCE, South 45034' 38" East and with said Tangent, 10.25 feet to the Northwest boundary line of the Old Friendswood-Alvin Road. -1- THENCE, continuing Southeast across the Old Alvin- Friendswood Road and paralled with the Southwest boundary line of the Friendswood Subdivision a distance of approximately 2,883. 8 feet to the Northwest right of way of Farm to Market Highway 528; THENCE, in a Southwesterly direction, along the Northwest boundary line of Farm to Market Road 528, a distance of approximately 149.54 feet to a point where the extention of the Dividing line between the Friendswood Subdivision and the Central Park Subdivision would intersect the Northwest Right of Way line. of Farm to Market Highway 528; THENCE, in .a straight line to, and along, the Southwest boundary line of Friendswood Subdivision, which line is also the dividing line between the Friendswood Subdivision and the Central Park Subdivision, across the Old Friends- wood-Alvin Road continuing on the dividing line between the Friendswood Subdivision and the Central Park Subdivision, •� • across Cowards Creek to the Southeast Boundary Line of Farm to Market road 2351 and the place of beginning, said tract containing 16. 66 acres of land more or less .
