A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REVISED DESIGN CRITERIA
MANUAL CONTAINING SUBDIVISION IMPROVEMENT
STANDARDS FOR ALL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY
CONTAINED IN APPENDIX B, SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE, OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, AND
CHAPTER 212 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE,
AND RESOLUTION R2000-04; AND REPEALING RESOLUTION
NO. R2003-10, PASSED AND RESOLVED ON THE 4� DAY OF
FEBRUARY,2003.

WHEREAS, the city has determined that there is a need for comprehensive and
concise guidelines covering improvements constructed during the subdividing and
development of property within the City of Friendswood and its extraterritorial
jurisdiction, and such is authorized by the City's home rule powers and Texas Local
Government Code Chapter 212; and
WHEREAS, the City of Friendswood has determined that all related improvement
standards and requirements should be incorporated into one document, entitled Design
Criteria Manual, that is separate from the Subdivision Ordinance itself, to allow for more
timely modification if necessary as set out in Resolution R2000-04; and
WHEREAS, attached hereto is a revised Design Criteria Manual containing the
minimum subdivision improvement standards and minimum standards for development
within the City of Friendswood's jurisdiction. These are only minimum requirements,
and additional requirements may be imposed as determined by the city;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD,TEXAS:
Section 1. Pursuant to the City of Friendswood Subdivision Ordinance,
Appendix B of the City Code of Ordinances, and Chapter 212 of the Texas Local

Government Code, and Resolution R2000-04 of the City of Friendswood, the City
Council hereby adopts the attached revised "Design Criteria Manual" and directs that the
standards and related documents contained and referred to therein shall control and
determine the minimum standards for improvements constructed during the subdividing
and development of property within the City of Friendswood, Texas.
Section 2. The Director of Community Development and Public Works is
hereby directed to maintain copies of the Design Criteria Manual and related documents
and make them available upon request, for a reasonable fee, to any individual who
request one. The Director is further directed to evaluate and review such standards and
make recommendations to Council from time to time for revisions.
Section 3. Resolution No. R2003-10 passed and resolved on the 4th day of
Februarv, 2003, and all other resolutions in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed to the
extent of any such conflict.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND RESOLVED by the City Council this 17th day of
