HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 46 n � ORDINANCE N0. 46 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City of Friendswood, for the year nineteen hundred and sixty-four, upon all property, real, personal and mixed, within the corporate limits of said City subject to taxation, a tax of FIFTY (500)CENTS on each ONE HUNDRED( $100.00) DOLLARS valuation of property, said property valuation shall be SIXTY ( 6 ) PERCENT of the actual market value, based upon the present tax roll, said tax being so levied for the specific purpose herein set forth: (1) For the maintenance and support of the general government ( General Fund) SECTION 2. All monies collected under this ordinance for the specific item herein named, that the Assessor and Collector of Taxes, the City Treasurer and the City Secretary shall keep an account so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amounts expended and the amount on hand at any time belonging to such fund, it is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor and ' Collector of Taxes and every person collecting money for the City of Friendswood to deliver to the City Treasurer and the City Secretary at the time of depositing any. monies, a statement showing such deposit has been made and from what source received. THERE IS HEREBY declared to be an emergency within the limits of the City of Friendswood, and, the requirements for reading this ordinance on three separate days having been waived by a majority vote of the City Council, the same is passed, approved and adopted on this the 3rd day of August, 1964,A.D. , and shall become effective immediately upon publication as presented by law.
