AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION FOR THE
CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1964 PROVIDING FOR THEIR
DUTIES AND TIME OF MEETING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS:
That, Layton Johnson, George Strouhal and Glen Mc Donyyald are
hereby appointed the Board of Equalization of the .City of Friendswood,
Texas, for the year 1964, who are to preform the duties of such
Board of Equalization for the City of Friendswood, Texas as prescribed
by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and Ordinance
of the City of Friendswood, Texas; such Board shall receive all
assessment lists or books of the assessor of the City of Friendswood,
for examination, correction, equalization, appraisement, and approval
for the City of Friendswood, Texas. At each meeting of said Board
the city secretary shall act as secretary therefor.
WHEREAS, the time has arrived for the commencing of the Board of
Equalization of the City of Friendswood, Texas, and no such Board has
been appointed, therefor, an imperative public necessity exists
requiring the suspension of the rule requiring all ordinances to
be read three separate times (meetings ), therefore, said rule is'
hereby suspended and said prdinance is placed on its first, second,
third and final reading and shall be in full force and effective. on
and after its passage.
