AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS RECEIVING AND
ANNEXING AS A PART OF SAID CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, TERRI-
TORY ADJACENT 'TO ITS MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES UNDER THE TERMS OF
ARTICLE 974G OF THE REVISED CIVIL STATUTES OF TEXAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS DULY ASSEMBLED:
SECTION ONE:
WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Council
of the City of Friendswood, Texas a Petition by Paul D. Long,
Trustee, petitioning the City Council to receive and annex as
a part of the City of Friendswood, Texas the land hereinafter
described.
SECTION TWO:
The City Council has considered the said Petition and
found it to be in due and proper form and finds as a fact that
the Petitioner, Paul D. Long, Trustee, is the owner of the le-
gal title to all of said land described in said Petition and
hereinafter described, that said Petition has been on file
with the City Council for not less than five (5) nor more than
thirty (30) days before being considered by the City Council,
that said land is adjacent to the present municipal boundaries
of the City of Freindswood and said land is less than one-half
(1/2) mile in width, and that every legal prerequisite neces-
sary to the valid and effectual annexation of' said territory
has been complied with.
SECTION THREE:
There is accordingly hereby received and annexed`
as a part of the City of Friendswood, Texas the following
described territory, to-wit :

Tracts Numbered Thirty-one (31), Forty-seven (47)
and the Northwest 1/2 of Tract No . Thirty-two (32) of the
Hoidale and Coffman Subdivision of the Northeast part of the
Perry & Austin League, Abstract 20, Galveston County, Texas,
according to the map of said Subdivision as it appears of
record in Volume 215 at Page 394 of the Deed Records of Gal-
veston County, Texas, to which map reference is here made for
further and more complete description.
All of those parts of Lots G and J of the Hoidale
Subdivision of the Perry & Austin Survey, Abstract 20, Gal-
veston County, Texas, lying East of and adjacent to the pre-
sent corporate boundaries of the City of Friendswood, Texas,
said land being a part of' the same land described in Deed
from J. R. Herridge to Paul D. Long, Trustee dated August
31, 1962 and recorded in Volume 831 at Page 195 of the Deed
Records of Brazoria County, Texas.
All of that part of the following described tract
lying East of the present corporate limits or boundaries of
the City of Friendswood, Texas;
All that tract out of the Thomas Labor lying in
Galveston County and Brazoria County, Texas, described as
follows : ti
All the unsold part of the tract of land set
aside to Mrs . Martha G. Marshall in that certain ,Deed of
Partition dated April 30, 1908 and duly recorded in the
Deed Records of Galveston County, Texas, in Volume 245,
Pages 36 to 41, described by metes and bounds as follows :
13EGINNING at a point on the East line of Thomas
Labor, said point being a distance of 3859 feet in a North-
easterly direction from the Southeast corner of thesaid
Thomas .Labor;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction along the
said East line a distance of 1224.3 feet to a stake for
corner;
THENCE North 450 West a distance of 834.9 feet
to a point for corner in the center of Clear Creek;
THENCE along the center of Clear Creek with its
meanders to a point in the center of said creek which is
North 450 East 552 feet and North 450 West 1092.2 feet from
the point of beginning;
THENCE South 450 West a distance of 552 feet to
a point for corner;
THENCE South 450 East 1092.2 feet to the place of
beginning; said tract of land containing 22.93 acres of land
in Galveston County, Texas, exclusive of the Cemetery, and
1.67 acres in Brazoria County, Texas, and said land being
the same land described in Deed from Annie V. Gambill to
Paul D. Long, Trustee dated July 26, 1962 and recorded in
Volume 828 at Page 492 of the Deed Records of Brazoria
County, Texas .
SECTION FOUR:
That said territory and the inhabitants thereof
shall hereafter have and enjoy all of the rights, privi-
leges and obligations incident to and flowing with and

from the annexation of said territory and its incorporation
in and within the corporate limits of the City of Friends-
wood; Texas .
SECTION FIVE:
The corporate limits of the City of Friendswood,
Galveston County, Texas are hereby extended and enlarged
so as to include within said corporate limits the above
described territory.
SECTION SIX:
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor and thencefotth said
territory shall be and remain part of the City of Friends-
wood, Texas as fully and all intents and purposes as if
said territory were inclued within the corporate limits
of the City of Friendswood as originally incorporated.
