' 9/6/Ol ex cc: REC . , CC : LISA i���'� 12/27 /00 � RESOLUTION NO.R2000-57 ' - - A RESOLUTION OF THE CI�i�' OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, - HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO �AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING � CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, � AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE SECOND YEAR OF FUNDING _ FOR THE SAFE AND DRUG FREE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES - FUNDING PROGRAM, HEREINA�TER REFERRED TO AS THE _ "PROGR.AM". AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATIG��TO T�IE �'RIMINAL JUSTICE I3IVISION. WHEREAS, the applicant finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Friendswood that the School Resource Officer program be funded for a second year; and WHEREAS, the applicant has considered the proposed budget for the State and Federal Assistance for said project, in the amount of$109,636 to be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Funding Program; and WHEREAS, the applicant has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Friendswood assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT" that the City of Friendswood approves second year submission of the grant application for the School Resource Officer Program to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Funding program in the amount of$109,636.
