A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETLJItNS AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING ONE (1) COUNCILMEMB�R TO
POSITION #3, FOR THE CITY OF FRIENDS`JVOOD.

WHEREAS, a general election was held in the City of Friendswood, Texas, on
November 7, 2000, for the purpose of electing one (1) Coiancilmember to position#3; and
WHEREAS, said election was duly and legally held in confornuty with the election laws
of the State of Texas, and the results of said election have been verified and returned by the
proper judges and clerks; and
WI�REAS, it appears that a total of 4,991 votes were cast in such election; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1. The facts and matters set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2. The official canvass of the returns of the general election held on
November 7, 2000, reflects that the following named persons received the number of votes set
opposite their names in the respective positions to be filled:
Councilmember - Position No. 3

Harless R. Benthul 1,457 29.44°/o

Section 3. The official canvass of the retu�rns of the general election held on
November 7, 2000, reflects that the following persons were duly elected to the respective
positions shown:

PASSED, APPROVED, AND RESOLVED this 13TH day of November, 2000.
