RESOLUTION NO. R2000-54
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS,
HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING
CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR,
AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR,
HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE THIRD YEAR OF FUNDING
FOR THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUNDING PROGRAM,
HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE "PROGRAM".
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION TO THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the applicant finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Friendswood that the
Crime Victim Assistance program be funded for a third year; and
WHEREAS, the applicant has considered the proposed budget for the State and Federal
Assistance for said project, in the amount of$44,494 to be submitted to the Office of the
Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Victims of Crime Act Program; and
WHEREAS, the applicant has agreed to provide matching monies for the said project in the
amount of$9,518 in cash match and $6,722 in-kind match, or an amount equal to one-fourth of
the total project cost, as required by the grant application, and
WHEREAS, the applicant has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Cnminal Justice
Division funds, the City of Friendswood assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal
Justice Division in full.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT" that the City of Friendswood approves third
year submission of the grant application for the Crime Victim Assistance Program to the Office
of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Victims of Crime Act program in the amount of
$60,734, which includes CJD funds in the amount of$44,494, cash match in the amount of
$9,518 and an in-kind match of$6,722 to be provided by volunteers.
