R2000-45 � " A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE "PROGRAM", CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT" HAS BEEN AWARDED FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,936.00 AND A MATCHING SHARE IN AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO TEN PERCENT IS READILY AVAILABLE; AND DEI�FICATING THE MONIES TO THE PURCHASE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT USING APPROVED LOCAL PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES. WHEREAS, the Bureau of Justice Assistance has approved the "Program" for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the "Program"; and WHEREAS, the"Applicant"is fully eligible for the funds and it is a non-competitive process; and WHEREAS, the"Applicant"is desirous of authorizing the Chief of Police as the program manager to enroll in the online application process; and WHEREAS, the"Applicant"has identified equipment needs vital to the work of the Police Department, NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT": SECTION 1: That the"ApplicanY'hereby certifies that they are eligible and are agreed to receive assistance under the"Program". SECTION 2: That the "Applicant"hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. SECTION 3: That the "Applicant"hereby authorizes and directs the Chief of Police as program manager to represent and act for the "Applicant"in dealing with the Bureau of Justice Assistance. SECTION 4: The"Applicant"hereby specifically authorizes and dedicates the program funds for the purchase of law enforcement equipment using local procurement procedures.
