MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION THAT WAS HELD
ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2016, AT 6:00 PM AT FRIENDSWOOD CITY HALL SECOND
FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM, 910 S. FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, WITH THE
FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM:

6:00 PM—REGULAR SESSION
Chair Nye called the meeting to order.
City Secretary Melinda Welsh had requested input from Mayor, City Council, Friendswood residents, and
City Staff for any suggested changes to the City's charter. Mrs. Welsh passed out a list that was
compiled of the input that was received. The commission held a discussion about the suggested
changes.
Lengthy discussion was held regarding review of the City Charter. The commission reviewed Sections
1.00 through Section 3.10. It was determined that a number of grammatical changes need to be made,
and certain areas were flagged for future discussion with the commission and City Attorney after a legal
review.
Discussion was held regarding the next meeting date, which will be October 12, 2016, at 6:00 PM.
A motion was made and approved to adjourn at 8:03 PM.
