FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM: CHAIRMAN JIM NYE VICE CHAIRMAN ROBIN HALL MEMBER JIM BARR MEMBER KITTEN BRIZENDINE MEMBER LEOLA HILL HANCOCK MEMBER KIRK LIPPERT MEMBER BILL PROVENZANO CITY SECRETARY MELINDA WELSH CITY MANAGER ROGER ROECKER 6:00 PMā€”REGULAR SESSION Mayor Holland called the meeting to order. City Secretary Melinda Welsh administered the Oaths of Office to members Jim Barr, Kitten Brizendine, Robin Hall, Leola Hill Hancock, Kirk Lippert, Jim Nye, and Bill Provenzano. Mayor Holland made opening remarks regarding the responsibility of the Charter Review Commission, reminded that the charter is the city's constitution, and thanked everyone for giving their time to the very important review process. Discussion was held regarding the election of Chairman and Vice Chairman. Mayor Holland left the meeting at this time. **Member Leola Hill Hancock moved to elect Jim Nye as Chairman. Seconded by Member Kitten Brizendine. The motion was approved unanimously. **Chairman Jim Nye moved to elect Robin Hall as Vice Chairman. Seconded by Member Kitten Brizendine. The motion was approved unanimously. Discussion was held regarding lessons learned at the last charter review as far as timelines and receiving input and how it can be accomplished effectively for this review, how to operate the meetings from here on, next steps, will request that Friendswood residents, elected officials and Staff give any input to the City Secretary, and discussed when and how often to meet. The next meeting will be September 28, 2016, at 6:00 PM. The consensus was that the City Secretary would provide any items that have been noted for review and the commission will strive to review several sections of the charter at each meeting. Brief discussion was held regarding review of the Charter. Member Kitten Brizendine moved to hold Charter Review Commission meetings on Wednesdays at 6 PM. Seconded by Member Bill Provenzano.
