R2000-20 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, OFFICER OF THE GOVERNOR, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE "PROGRAM", CERTIFY THAT THE "APPLICANT" IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE PROGRAM ASSISTANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,062.00; CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT" IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MATCHING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $574.00; r"�ND DEDICATING THE FUNDS TO PRESCRIBED PURPOSE AREAS AND REQUIRED DISTRUBUTIONS THAT PROMOTE GREATER ACCOUl�iTABILITY IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor has approved the "Program" for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the "program"; and WHEREAS, the"ApplicanY' is fully eligible to receive assistance under the "Program"; and WHEREAS, the"Applicant" is desirous of authorizing a program manager to represent and act for the "ApplicanY'in dealing with the"Department" concerning the"Program"; BE IT RESOLVE� B�'THE "�F���CA'�TT"� SECTION 1: That the "Applicant"hereby certifies that they are eligible to receive assistance under the "Program". SECTION 2: That the"Applicant"hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. SECTION 3: That the"Applicant"hereby authorizes and directs the police chief as program manager to represent and act for the"Applicant" in dealing with the"Department". SECTION 4: The "Applicant"hereby specifically authorizes and dedicates the program funds for providing funding and technology, equipment, and training to assist prosecutors in identifying and expediting the prosecution of violent juvenile offenders and maintaining interagency information-sharing programs that enable the juvenile and criminal justice system, schools, and social services agencies to make more informed decisions regarding the early identification, control, supervision, and treatment of juveniles who repeatedly commit serious delinquent or criminal acts.
