The Friendswood Office of Emergency Management (OEM) scheduled a water bill mailer to be sent out to all residents of the City. Assistant City Manager Morad Kabiri stated Staff received notice from Texas Department of Emergency Management of disaster recovery funds that are about to be made available from the state of Texas for the natural disasters that occurred in May 2015 and October 2015. There will be approximately $24 Million made available in counties and municipalities where disasters took place, potential projects that qualify are Sunmeadow drainage.improvements and Annalea drainage project. In order to qualify, the City must have a cost benefit ratio of 1.2 or better, meaning the benefits to the property identified have to be at least 1.2 times greater than the cost of the project.
