RESOLUTION NO. R2001-07
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R2001-05,
PASSED AND APPROVED THE 19TH DAY OF FEBRUARY 2001, BY
STRIHING ALL OF SECTION 3 THEREOF AND SUBSTITUTING
THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 3; SETTING FORTH MORE SPECIFIC
BALLOT LANGUAGE TO BE USED FOR THE PROPOSITION IN THE
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD BY THE CITY ON MAY 5, 2001.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS:
Section 1. City of Friendswood, Texas, Resolution No. R2001-05, passed and
approved the 19th day of February 2001, is hereby amended by striking all of Section 3 thereof
and substituting therefor a new Section 3, which shall read as follows:
"Section 3. It is hereby further ordered that a Special Election be held in
the City on the Sth day of May 2001, at which Special Election there shall be
submitted to the qualified voters of the City, for their action thereon, the following
proposition regarding the authority of the City to sell certain park property,
commonly known as Lake Friendswood, and dedicate the proceeds from such sale
to future community park use. The official ballot for said Special Election shall be
prepared in accordance with the TExAS ELECT1oN CoDE so as to permit electors to
vote `FOR' or `AGAINST' the proposition. The proposition shall be stated as
follows:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the City be authorized to sell a certain 36.62-acre tract of land,
more or less, owned by the city, which land is currently designated as City park
property, and which is commonly known as Lake Friendswood, within the City
of Friendswood, Texas, with the proceeds from such sale to be dedicated to
future community park use?"
Section 2. Except as herein amended, Resolution No. R2001-05, as passed, remains
the same.
