R2002-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, APPROVING THE FRIENDSWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT'S SUBMISSION OF A CONTINUATION GRANT APPLICATION, FOR ITS CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION PROJECT, TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING (421) PROGRAM, IN THE AMOiTNT OF $65,451.00. * * * * ��i�'�"h°a, ilie �iiy �ciiui�ii oi the Ciry Gi riieiiu�wooci, Tcxa� �i'�ie "i iiy"j �iereby finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that the Child Abuse Investigation Project of the City's Police Denartment be operated for a second year; and WHEREAS, the City believes that the program materially enhances the administration of justice for child victims of crime within the City; now, therefore, WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposed application for State and Federal Assistance for said project, in the amount of$65,451.00, to be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Criminal Justice Planning (421) Fund; and BE IT RESOLVEI3 BY THE CITY CQLi'vCIL OF THE CITY Ofr FIZIEi�v'DSWOOD, TEXAS: Section l. That the City Council hereby approves and authorizes the Police Department's submission of a continuation grant application, for its City's Child Abuse Investigation Project, to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, State 421 Fund. Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes provision of the necessary matching funds, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total funds requested, required by the terms of the grant. Section 3. That in the event of loss or misuse of such funds, the City shall reimburse the Criminal Justice Division for the full amount of such lost or misused funds.
