R 2002-OS A RE50LUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD IN DEALING WITH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN CONTINUATION OF FUNDING FOR THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUNDING PROGRAM, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE "PROGRAM". AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A CONTINUATION GRANT APPLICATION TO THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL. WHEREAS,the City of Friendswood finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Friendswood that the Crime Victim Assistance program continue to be grant funded; and WHEREAS,the City of Friendswood has considered the proposed budget for the State and Federal Assistance for said project, in the amount of$51,250.00 to be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Victims of Crime Act Program; and WHEREAS,the City of Friendswood believes that the program materially enhances the administration of justice for all crime victims in the City of Friendswood; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City of Friendswood approves submission of a continuation grant application for the Crime Victim Assistance Program to the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Victims of Crime Act program. Section 2. That the City shall continue the necessary matching funds and in-kind services required by the terms of the grant. Section 3. That in the event of loss or misuse of H-GAC funds, the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to H-GAC in full. PASSED, APPROVED,AND RESOLVED BY THIS THE 21ST DAY OF JANUARY 2002.
