A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING KIMBALL
W. BRIZENDINE, MAYOR, TO ACT AS THE CITY'S
REPRESENTATIVE IN SEEKING ELIGIBLE GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE STATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING 421 FUND FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2005 ("GRANT"); AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF
SUCH GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION
OF THE OFFICE OF GOVERNOR

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Friendswood, Texas, finds it in the best
interests of the citizens of the City that the Child Abuse Investigator Program be operated for the
2005 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Friendswood desires to designate the Mayor
as the grantee's authorized official for purposes of the Grant. The authorized official is given the
power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the Grant on behalf of the applicant agency;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to provide applicable matching funds for the
said project as required by the State Criminal Justice Planning 421 Fund grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the
Criminal Justice Division funds, such funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in
full; now,therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS:
Section 1. The facts and matters set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Friendswood approves submission of the
grant application for the Child Abuse Investigator Program to the Office of the Governor,
Criminal Justice Division.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Friendswood specifically authorizes the
Mayor to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the Grant.
