R2003-32 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, (HEREINAFTER "APPLICANT"), DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE APPLICANT IN DEALING WITH THE CRIME VICTIM 5ERVICES DIVISION, OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF TEXAS, (HEREINAFTER "DEPARTMENT"), FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING THE THER VICTIM ASSISTANCE GRANTS (OVAG) PROGRAM, EREINAFTER "PROGRAM") AND AUTHORIZING THE SU MISSION OF THE APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATT EY GENERAL OF TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the proposed application for State Assistance for said pr 'ect to be submitted to the Office of the Attorney General of Texas (OAG), Crime Victim Se ices Division(CVSD); and WHEREAS, the City ouncil finds it in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of citizens of Friendswood that grant application be submitted for funding under the Other � victim Assistance Grant (OVAG) dministered by the Crime Victim Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Te s;Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED: Section 1. The Mayor is hereb authorized to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant and to participate in the Pro am. Section 2. The City will not use the e 'stence of an OAG grant award to offset or decrease total salaries, expenses, and allowances tha the Applicant receives from the governing body at or after the time the grant is awarded. Section 3. The City agrees that in the event o loss or misuse of OAG funds, the governing body assures that the funds will be returned to OA in full PASSED AND APPROVED on this 21 st day of July, 20 . r � l�t/ � Kimball W.
