R2003-13 A RESOLUTION OF TI�E CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING THE MAYOR OF FRIENDSWOOD AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH T�IE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL,I�EREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PLTRPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN CONTINUATION OF FUNDING FOR THE STATE 421 FUNDING PROGRAM, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS TI�E "PROGRAM;" AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A CONTINUATION GRANT APPLICATION TO THE HOUSTON- GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL. ' WI�REAS, the applicant finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Friendswood that � the Child Abuse Investigator project continue to be grant funded and operated for the 2004 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the applicant has considered the proposed application for the State and Federal Assistance for said project, in the amount of $72,723 to be submitted to Houston- Galveston Area Council, State 421 Fund Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Friendswood has agreed to provide matching moneys far the said project in the amount of$14,545 or an amount equal to 20% of the total project cost, as re- quired by the grant application; and WHEREAS, the City of Friendswood has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Friendswood assures that the funds will be re- turned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. WHEREAS, the applicant believes that the program materially enhances the administra- tion of justice for all victims of child abuse and neglect in the City of Friendswood; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City of Friendswood approves submission of the grant applica- tion far the Child Abuse Investigator Project to Houston-Galveston Area Council, State 421 Fund Program in the axnount of$72,723, and the allocation of$14,545 from the City of Friends- wood for the completion of the program.
