AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS,
ORDINANCE NO. 85-19, AS AMENDED, ORIGINALLY ADOPTED THE 25t1i
DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1985, BEING APPENDIX B OF THE
FRIENDSWOnD CITY CODE, AND BE1NG AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING
RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING PLATS AND THE
SUBDIVISION OF LAND WITHIN THE CITY, BY AMENDING
SUBSECTION c.4., SIDEWALKS, OF SECTION IV TO PROVIDE THAT
ALL REQUIRED SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE CITY SHALL BE A M[�JIMUM
WIDTH OF FOUR FEET; PROVIDING A PENALTY IN AN AMOUNT OF
NOT LESS THAN $2,000.00 FOR EACH DAY OF VIOLATION HEREOF;
AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.

BE IT ORDAlNED by the City Council of the City of Friendswood, State of Texas:
Section 1. Appendix b of the Friendswood City Code, same being city of
Friendswood, Texas, Ordinance No. 88-19, as amended, originally passed and approved the 25`t`
day of December, 1985, and being the Subdivision Ordinance of the City, is hereby amended by
deleting the last five words of the ne� to the last sentence and the last sentence of subsection
(c)(4) Sidewalks, of Section IV therein in its entirety, which provides as follows:
[...in single-family residential areas. In multiple-family or group housing developments,
sidewalks shall be five feet wide, and ten feet wide in commercial areas.]
Section 2. Except as otherwise herein expressly amended, all other provisions of Appendix B
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Friendswood, Texas, said Appendix B being the Subdivision
Ordinance of the City, Ordinance No. 85-19, originally adopted the 25�'' day of September, 1985, as it
may have been previously amended, remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

Section 3. Penaltv. Any person who shall violate any provision of this Ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, sha11 be fined in an amount not to
exceed$2,000. Each day of violation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 4. Severabilitv. In the event any clause phrase, provision, sentence, or part
of this Ordinance or the application of the same to any person or circumstances shall for any
reason be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall
not affect, impair, or invalidate this Ordinance as a whole or any part or provision hereof other
than the part declared to be invalid or unconstitutional; and the City Council of the City of
Friendswood, Texas, declares that it would have passed each and every part of the same
notwithstanding the omission of any such part thus declared to be invalid or unconstitutional,
whether there be one or more parts.
PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading this 17thday of May , 1999.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED on second and final reading this �th day of
