Police Department Police Investiqation Fund Reimbursement $2 000 At the May 6, 2013 meeting, Council approved FY13 BA X to purchase a specially trained canine with the understanding that Friendswood ISD would contribute up to $5,000. The contribution of$3,000 from Friendswood ISD was received on September 18, 2013. The appropriation made in May will be adjusted to reflect the actual contribution and the difference of$2,000 will be returned to the PIF Fund Balance. 2. Purchased Water and Capital Cost Recoverv Fees $189 466. The City has a contract with the City of Houston that includes the construction, operation and maintenance of the Southeast Water Purification plant. In FY13, additional surtace water was needed due to increased consumption during ongoing drought conditions. There is insufficient funding in the purchased water expense account to cover this additional expense. In correlation, the water revenues collected exceeded budget projections. Therefore, we will appropriate $120,000 of the excess revenues to cover the expense. Also, as improvements are made to the plant and the water system, the City's pro rata share of the capital investment may increase. In FY13, the City was notified of an increase to the capital recovery cost fees. Water and Sewer Fund working capital in the amount of $69,466 wiil be appropriated to cover the increased capital recovery cost fees. A decision package is included in the FY14 adopted budget for the capital recovery cost fee increase. 3. Senior Proqram Donations. $18,482. Appropriate funds donated to the Senior Activity Center. Funds were received October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013. Funds will reimburse the Community Services operating budget for Senior Program activities, trips and special events.
