1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:02 pm with the following members present:

3. MINUTES
A. Consider approving the minutes of the Community and Economic Development
Committee Regular Meeting, held on February 5th, 2025.
Motion to approve: Guzzetta
Second: Winne
Vote: 7/0 - Minutes Approved
4. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Discuss the Community and Economic Development Committee economic
development and business retention strategy.
Asimakis welcomed committee member Beth Robinson and informed the others that Sharon
Rowsey would also be joining.
Internship Program – Future Works
Asimakis informed the committee that social media guides were distributed to schools to
promote Future Works before Spring Break and asked the committee to continue encouraging
Future Works through their social platforms.
Small Business Week 2025 –Pathways through Prosperity - Scheduled for May 5-9, 2025
The committee has reviewed the agenda and activities for Small Business Week, and the
schedule for the week is now set. Due to the availability of the guest speaker, Armondo Perez,
the “Keynote Speaker and Networking” event originally scheduled for Thursday has been
moved to Monday.
Schedule for Small Business Week:
Friday, May 2nd - Thank you to the business community. Pre-recorded videos and
messages will be shown on the city’s social media platforms.
Monday, May 5th - Keynote Speaker and Networking event at Hope Village Education
and Community Center.
Tuesday, May 6th - Kick-off Coffee at Summer Moon Coffee & City Proclamation,
sponsored by Frost Bank.
Wednesday, May 7th - Programs: "Making Your Business Stand Out," sponsored by
Friendswood Rotary Club.
Session 1: Marketing Strategies with Impact, presented by Jess
Clements from JCMM.social.
Session 2: People-Centric Development and Business Culture,
featuring Laura Seifert from Yes., Lauren Ambeau
from Friendswood Independent School District, and
Brandon Kinsey from Kinsey Management.
Thursday, May 8th - Open Day.
Friday, May 9th - Share online resources; headshots will be available for $45 per person

Committee members will distribute flyers throughout the city, with each member assigned to
specific areas.
