A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR A LOCAL ON -SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS BY AND THROUGH
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FM 528 SIGNAL
IMPROVEMENTS AT FRIENDSWOOD PARKWAY; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AGREEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.

WHEREAS, the State owns and operates a system of highways for public use and benefit,
including FM 518 in Galveston County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation,
and the City of Friendswood seek to enter into an agreement for a Local On -System Improvement
Project, which includes the construction of a signal modification and street tie-in from westbound FM
528 to Friendswood Parkway; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, STATE
OF TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and matters set forth in the recitals of this resolution are hereby found
to be true and correct.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Friendswood authorizes and directs the City
Manager to execute an Agreement for a Local On -System Improvement Project with the State of Texas,
acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation, for signal modification and street tie-in
from westbound FM 528 to Friendswood Parkway.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Friendswood authorizes payment in
accordance with the agreement authorized in Section 2 hereinabove, including any adjustments or cost
overruns required thereunder — all of which shall be funded by the adjacent landowner pursuant to a
development agreement with the City.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
