RESOLUTION NO. J 7- 3
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING
THE RESULTS OF A BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY
OF FRIENDSWOOD , TEXAS, ON APRIL 1 , 1978
WHEREAS , an election was held in the City of Friendswood,
Texas , on April 1 , 1978 , at which one proposition relating
to the issuance of sanitary sewer system revenue bonds of
said City was submitted to the duly qualified, resident
electors of the City for their action thereon; and
WHEREAS , there were cast at said election 436 votes ,
of which number there were cast :
PROPOSITION
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $1 , 500 , 000
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE
BONDS 347 votes
AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $1 , 500 , 000
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE
BONDS 89 votes
MAJORITY FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
$1 , 500 , 000 SANITARY SEWER
SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS 258 votes;
and
WHEREAS , the above totals are shown in the official elec-
tion returns of said election heretofore submitted to the City
Council and filed with the City Secretary; and
WHEREAS , said election was called and held in all respects
under and in strict conformity with the Constitution and laws
of the State of Texas and of the United States ; now, therefore ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD,
STATE OF TEXAS :
Section 1 . The matters and facts set forth in the preamble
of this resolution are hereby found to be true and correct .
Section 2 . The election held in the City of Friendswood,
Texas , on April 1 , 1978 , which is more fully described in the
preamble of this resolution, was called and notice thereof was
given in accordance with law and the election was held in
all respects in conformity with law. Only qualified, resident
electors of the City voted in the election; returns of the
election have been lawfully made by the proper officials ; the
election has resulted favorably to the issuance of the bonds
described in the proposition submitted at the election; and
more than a majority of the qualified voters voting at the
election have voted in favor of the proposition submitted at
such election.
Section 3 . The City Council of the City is hereby autho-
rized to issue all of the bonds described in the aforesaid
proposition and to do any and all things necessary or conven-
ient in connection therewith.
Section 4. It is hereby found and determined that the
NOTICE OF MEETING, relating to the regular meeting of the
City Council at which this resolution was adopted, and hereto-
fore posted by the City Secretary, and the posting thereof,
was proper and said notice and posting are hereby authorized,
approved, adopted, ratified, and confirmed.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of April , 1978 .
