MAYOR WHITAKER CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER.
THE INVOCATION WAS GIVEN BY ASSOCIATE PASTOR DAVID BRIDGES FROM FRIENDSWOOD FRIENDS
CHURCH.
MAYOR WHITAKER LED THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE STATE OF TEXAS AND TO THE UNITED
STATES.
COUNCILMEMBER KITTEN BRIZENDINE HAD NOTHING TO REPORT.
COUNClLMEMBER ERICSSON HAQ NOTHING TO REPORT.
COUNCILMEMBER KIM BRIZENDINE HAD NOTHING TO REPORT.
COUNCILMEMBER TAYLOR REPORTED ON ATTENDING TNE FRIENDSWOOD VOLUNTEER FIRE
DEPARTMENT "OPEN HOUSE" AND STATED IT WAS WEL� ATTENDED, AND VIEWED THE NEW
EQUIPMENT.
COUNCILMEMBER MEASE�ES REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE RECYCLING SUMMIT THIS WEEK IN
HOUS70N AND REMINOED EVERYONE OF TNE PRAYER BREAKFAST TNIS SATIlRDAY WHICH BE HELD
AT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST.
MAYOR WHITAKER REMINDED EVERYONE OF THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY F�STIVAL THAT WILL BE HELQ
NOVEMBER 21ST AT THE BROWN MUSEUM ON SKYVIEW AND INVITED ALL TO ATTEND.
THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD PRESENTATION FOR OUTSTANDING BUSINESS YARD WILL BE
RESCHEDULED.
MR. MEL AUSTIN, 26 HIDEAWAY, APf'EARED BEFORE COUNCIL REPRESENTING THE HIQDEN COVE
HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION AND ASKED COUNCIL TO LOOK CLOSELY AT TH�S REZONING REQUEST
FOR A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT AT 107 SHADWELL AND STATED NOT ALL INFORMATION REQUESTED
HAS BEEN Pf20VIDED TO THE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, NOT ALL INFORMATION THAT IS

REQUIRED HAS BEEN SIGNED BY THE ENGINEER WHICH IS ILLEGAL, FEMA PERMiTS HAVE N07 BEEN
ISSUED, THE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION HAS RETAINED DODSON CONSULTANTS AS DRAINAGE
CONSULTANTS AND IF THE CITY DOES APPROVE THE SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR THIS PROJECT,
THEY ARE PREPARED TO FlLE AND INJUNCTION AGAINST THE CITY, THE DEVELOPER AND THE
DRAINAGE OISTRICT.
MR. FRANK WEBB, 307 STONEHENGE,APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND ASKED EVERYONE TO MARK
THEIR CALENDARS THAT NOVEMBER 11T" IS VETERANS DAY AND INVITED COUNCIL TO VISIT THE
VETERANS HOSPl7AL.

C{TY MANAGER COX REPORTED THAT EF�ECTIVE TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2000, WATER
CONSERVAT{ON MEASURES WILL SE LIFTED. MR. COX ALSO REPORTED THAT THE
PLATFORM/LADDER FIRE TRUCK HAS BEEN DELIVERED AND iS LOCATED IN FIRE STATION #1. FIRE
CHIEF DAN KEY iS NOW SENDING THE VOLUNTEERS AND PAID STAFF THROUGN MANDATORY ' �
TRAINING BEFORE THE TRUCK CAN BE PLACED IN SERVICE. THE TRUCK WILL NOT BE 1N SERVICE
UNTIL JANUARY 2001 WHEN TRAINING WILL BE COMPLETED.
NO ACTION WAS TAKEN REGARDING NOMINATION OF A CANDIDATE TO FiLL A VACANCY ON THE
GAI.VESTON CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE CITY, BY CHANGlNG THE ZONlNG CLASSIFICATION OF A CERTAlN ACRE TRACT OF LAND FROM
