FRIENDSWOOD BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 8, 1994,
1. Call to Order. The Bicycle Advisory Committee met on
the above date at 7: 00 p.m. in the City Hall. In attendance
were Barbara Fawcett (by conference call) , Mel Measeles, Joe
Tennison, Todd Yeager and Melinda Wasson. Mike McNabb,
president of the Wolf Pack, attended as an interested
citizen. Mel chaired the meeting as Tony LeCara was unable
to attend.
2 . Minutes of September 22 , 1994. The minutes were
approved as corrected to read August 25, 1994.
3 . Report from Chair. No report.
4 . Status of ISTEA projects. Todd reported the City
received a letter from the Department of Transportation
thanking us for our application, but there were 80 projects
selected in the State and the two selected in the Houston
area did not include ours.
5. Parks Master Plan. Mel said the Committee needs to have
a copy in its files.
6. Helmet use program. Mel reported Council referred our
recommendation to the Police Department and tabled any
action until they get a recommendation from Chief Stout.
7. Moonlight Bicycle Ramble. Mel said he felt there was
some interest in the community to continue it but nothing
definite has been formulated yet.
8. Alternate Members. Joe moved and Melinda seconded that
the Committee recommend Mike McNabb, Bruce Cunningham and
Tom Malone to the Council as alternate members, if they all
accept.
8. Agenda Items for Next Meeting. Mel asked Melinda to
make a new roster. He said we need to put election of
officers on the agenda.
Adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 8: 00 p.m.
