The Bicycle Advisory Committee met on the above date at 7:15 p.m. In attendance were Sherie Warminski, Sidney Allbritton, Jay Haldiman, Barb Fawcett, and Todd Yeager. 2. Report from Chair. Nothing new to report. 3. Election of officers. Don moved that Sherie remains as committee chair, Sidney seconded, all voted in favor. Don nominated Sidney as vice chair, Jay seconded, all voted in favor. Sidney moved that Barb remains as secretary,Don Seconded,all voted in favor. Officers were elected as follows: Chair-Sherie Warminski; Vice Chair-Sidney Allbritton; Barb Fawcett-Secretary. 4. Streets that have problem areas for bicyclists. Sidney reported that the problem areas on the bridge on 528 over Clear Creek have been fixed. He also reported that Friendswood Link Road has problem areas on and near the bridge such as gravel and potholes. The possibility of having street sweepers clean 518 & 528 was also discussed. 5. Sunset Bicycle Lane. It was reported that work on the Bicycle lane on Sunset is in progress and going well. Signage and road markings were discussed, neither are in place yet. 6. Ticket to Ride program. No development. 7. July 4th Bike Ride. A name for the ride was discussed. Jay moved that it be called the Friendswood Summer Bike Ride, Don Seconded, all voted in favor. Registration costs were discussed. Jay moved that early registration cost$5.00 until the 20th then be increased to $8.00 after the 20th, Don seconded, all voted in favor. Don suggested that the committee ask HEB Panty Foods to sponsor break points on the ride. Jon Branson will be asked to promote the ride at the concerts in the park, and committee members will be at the concerts to register riders. Sidney recommended that the ride be in honor of Lawrence Cline, 93, a long time Friendswood resident and bike rider. Don moved that the committee approve Sidney's recommendation, Jay Seconded, all voted in favor. 8. Bicycle Friendly designation. No discussion. 9. Adjournment.
