1. Call to order. Meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Sherie Warminski.
2. Hike and Bike Trails. Guest, Penny Burke, discussed the need to provide
alternate means of neighborhood parks and embracing the concept of hike and bike
trails. The desire for building parks in appropriate sections of town, providing
natural area for hike and bike trails, seeing the need for trails to be built along all
creeks were all eloquently spoken by Mrs. Burke.
3. Family bike rides. Sydney suggested that the bike rides go through a private
entity. This would release the city from liability.
4. Street sweeper. Joe reported that Janis had talked with him. She talked about the
importance of promoting to "Keep Streets Clean" after streets are swept. Discussed
equipment and cost of street sweeper.
5. "Bicycle Friendly" designation. The committee discussed the designation. Jay
stated that he would look on the internet to find other cities who have done this.
Yvette stated that she would contact Todd about possible information he had been
working on or received.
6. Summer Bike Ride. Sydney discussed the need for an uncluttered map and the
need to mark a trail for the ride. Mel said that he would be in charge of the break
points again. The committee discussed several groups that could volunteer. Girl
scouts, boy scouts, explorers, high school -interact group, etc. Yvette said she
would draw up map for the ride.
7. Adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 9:12 p.m.
