w ADA COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 12, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. , by Martha Gillett, ADA
Committee Chairperson.
Those present: Jon Branson, Community Services Director, Roger Roecker,
Director of Administrative Services, David Hoover, Planner/Building Official
and Martha Gillett, ADA Chairperson.
In response to recent complaints from citizens, the ADA committee met to
discuss the doors of City Hall. Complaints were made indicating the doors
were too heavy for disabled individuals to open without assistance.
Jon Branson reported the threshold on the front door is being repaired to
comply with ADA.
The committee checked the pull on the front and back doors of City Hall to
ensure they are adjusted properly and comply with ADA regulations. Both
rear doors will be adjusted to the ADA requirements.
In addition, the committee recommends placing a sign at the entrance (next
to Shear Pleasure) of City Hall. The sign should read "Disabled parking in
rear of building."
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
