HomeMy WebLinkAboutADA Minutes 1996-04-12 Regular CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD w ADA COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES APRIL 12, 1996 The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. , by Martha Gillett, ADA Committee Chairperson. Those present: Jon Branson, Community Services Director, Roger Roecker, Director of Administrative Services, David Hoover, Planner/Building Official and Martha Gillett, ADA Chairperson. In response to recent complaints from citizens, the ADA committee met to discuss the doors of City Hall. Complaints were made indicating the doors were too heavy for disabled individuals to open without assistance. Jon Branson reported the threshold on the front door is being repaired to comply with ADA. The committee checked the pull on the front and back doors of City Hall to ensure they are adjusted properly and comply with ADA regulations. Both rear doors will be adjusted to the ADA requirements. In addition, the committee recommends placing a sign at the entrance (next to Shear Pleasure) of City Hall. The sign should read "Disabled parking in rear of building."
