Members present:

Tessilyn Knell Yvette Reyes-Staff Liaison
1. Call to order.Meeting began at 7:36 p.m.
2. Re ort from Chair. Mr. Allbritton expressed his enjoyment with working with the Bicycle
Advisory Committee. Currently, he is going to have to phase over to other activities. He
briefed the committee on materials he has accumulated over the last year(i.e.,-map, HGAC,
ISlEA,press releases, bike ride info, disks, tapes etc.) All this information will be forwarded
to the new Chairman.
3. Mrs. McHone nominated Mr. Haldiman for 1998 Chairman. Mr. Allbritton seconded the
moion. All were in favor. Jay Haldiman was voted the 1998 Bicycle Advisory Committee
Chairman. Mr. Allbritton nominated Mrs. Knell for Vice Chairman. Mr. Tennison seconded
the,motion. All were in favor. Tessilyn Knell was voted the 1998 Vice Chairman. Ms. Reyes
will continue Secretary position. Mr. Tennison stated that Choyce Kinchen will no longer
serve on the BAC. He has moved. Mr.Measeles suggested that the committee review the
Officer terms (i.e.,-rotation system, length of office).
4. Mrs. Knell talked to Dr. Clay on January 23 in reference to the Bicycle Helmet campaign. He
wasj agreeable with the goal and its purpose. She discussed materials and flyers in reference
to her ideas. Mrs. Knell stated that a policeman would be willing to present this campaign. It
waslsuggested that a special meeting take place to specifically discuss the Bicycle Helmet
Campaign. Mr. Tennison made a motion to approve the Bicycle Helmet Campaign. Mr.
Allbritton seconded the motion. All were in favor. Mr. Tennison also made a motion to buy
tapes if needed for the campaign. Mrs. McHone seconded All were in favor.
S_ Mrs. McNabb went over the Fiiendswood Summer Bike Ride information. Topics presented
and discussed:
-Port-o potty
i-t-shirts
poster/signs
-cheappaint
food/drinks
-numbers for riders
-advertising(newspapers, area merchants, magazines, etc.)
Mrs. McNabb stated that she had a cost of$7.70 per shirt(4 color). Mr. Measeles also
stated that the bike ride could be promoted at Concerts in the Parr
6. The goals and mission statement have been forwarded to the next regular committee meeting.
