COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE CONGRESSMAN DELAY LUNCHEON, THE TAX PAYERS RESEARCH COUNCIL DINNER, AND REMINDED COUNCIL OF THE CONIlylUNITY BREAKFAST HONORING THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM, WILL BE A PRESENTER FOR THE LEAGLTE OF WOMEN VOTERS POLITICAL WORKSHOP "RUNNING AND WINNING: A WORKSHOP FOR THE FUTURE WOMEN OF POLITZCS. " �5�� MAYOR WHITAKER REPORTED ON ATTENDING A MEETING WITH CITY MANAGER COX REGARDING THE ELLINGTON WATER PLANT AND DISCUSSED EXPANSION OF THE PLANT WHICH WILL BE WORKSHOPPED TO DISCUSS BUY IN FOR ADDITIONAL CAPACITY. MAYOR WHITAKER STATED THAT THIS IS VERY TIMELY WITH THE EVENTS OF THE WEEKEND AND THE PUMPS OUT LOWERING THE CAPACITY TO SURROUNDIN6 CITIES AND STATED THE FRIEI3DSWOOD PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT KEPT WELLS tIP TO PRESSURE, MONITORED THEM THIS WEEKEND TO SEE IF THEY HAD TO IMPLEMENT RATIONING BUT KEPT THE WATER CAPACITY UP. MS. ROBIN JONES NINI, 218 RON CIRCLE, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL IN OPPOSITION OF THE PROPOSED DRY CLEANING PLANTS REZONINGS AND EXPRESSED HER CONCERNS. MR. RON CINCH APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL SN OPPOSITION OF THE PROPOSED DRY CLEANING PLANTS REZONINGS ADID EXPRESSED HIS CONCERNS. M5. CATHY RAMBLIN APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL REGARDING THE DRY CLEANING PLANTS AND STATED THAT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THE PLANTS AND ASKED COUNCIL TO HOLD OFF MAKING A DECISION IN ORDER FOR THE PUBLIC TO HAVE MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROCESS, CHEMICALS, LAND VALUES, DEPRECIATION, TRAFFIC PROBLEMS, AND STATED THAT FRIENDWOOD HAS A GOOD REPUTATION AND SHOULD BE KEPT THAT WAY. ERICA GAY, 5TATED THAT F'RIENDSWOOD IS NOT LIKE OTHER COMMUNITIES, THAT THIS WILL OPEN UP THE COI�IIJNITY FOR LIABILITY, THAT FRIENDSWOOD USED TO BE ONE OF THE TOP TEN PLACES TO TIVE, AND IS COUNTING ON THE ELECTED OFFICIALS TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION, AND ASKED COUNCIL TO TABLE THE VOTE IN ORDER FOR MORE INFORMATION TO GET OUT TO THE PUBLIC. MR. JOE DEBONIS, A 23 YEAR RESIDENT OF FRIENDSWOOD, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO EXPRESS HIS CONCERNS REGARDING THE DRY CLEANING PLANT AND STATED THAT HE WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT THE CITY WOULD ACTUALLY CONSIDER REZONING OR ISSUE A PERMIT FOR A CHEMICAL PLANT, DISCUSSED THE CHEMICALS USED, AND EXPRESSED HIS CONCERNS ABOUT REGAE2DING THE LOCATION OF THE PLANT, IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN WHERE THE QIJAKERS BUILT THE FIRST HOUSE, AND IN THE VICINITY OF A CHURCH, THE SENICJR CENTER, THE LIBRARY, A SCHOOL, THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND APARTMENTS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. MR. DEBONIS ALSO EXPRESSED CONCERN REGF.RDING TWO MORE PI,ANTS OPERATING IN TOWN AND ASKED COUNCIL TO DO THEIR HOMEWORK. MS. CARRIE HUNNICUTT, 5111 ROYAL PARKFIAY, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL REGARDING THE EL DORADO BOULEVARD EXPANSION AND EXPRESSED HER CONCERNS WITH TRAEFIC INCREASII3G ON FRIENDSWOOD LINK, STATED THERE ARE OTHER ROUTES AND STATED THAT ERIENDWOOD LINK DOES NOT NEED TO BE EXPANDED. MR. JEFF BRANSCOME, 308 WOODSTREAM, FOUNDER OF THE CITIZENS AGAINST DANGEROUS DOGS, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND STATED THAT HE WAS SPEAKING FOR A LIST OF CITIZENS, READ EXCERPTS FROM LETTERS, AND EXPRESSED HIS CONCERNS REGARDING ANIMAL CONTROL, STATED HE HAD A VERY EFFECTIVE MEETING TODAY WITH MR. BOB WEINERS, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO CHIEF STOUT, AND PRESENTED INFORMATION ON DOG BITES THAT ANIMAL CONTROL HAD FILED, AND IN HIS OPINION HANDLED INCORRECTLY. MR. DAVID ALLEN, 214 INWOOD, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND EXPRESSED CONCERNS WITH THE CITY BUDGET, THE YNCREASE IN THE TAX RATE, THE VALUE OF HOMES, AND ADDITIONAL BUILDING VALUES. MS. VICKY WHYNOTT, 1716 FALCON RIDGE, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO EXPRESS CONCERNS REGARDING THE SP�CIFIC USE PERMIT FOR A DRY CLEANING PLANT AT THE OLD PHILLIPS 66 SERVICE STATION ON FM 518, I�ND STATED THAT A POOR JOB HAS BEEN DONE INFORMING THE PUBLIC AND ISSUING PREMITS, AND SUBMITTED A PETITION SIGNED BY VOTERS TO PROPOSE �-�� T COUNC=L DELAY THE DECISION UNTIL MORE INEOF2MATION IS GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC. MR. MO SAIIDI, 2006 MCKISSICK, APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND EXPRESSED HIS CONCERNS ABOUT THE PROPOSED TAX RATE INCREASE.
