VEHICLES, LADDER TRUCK AND OPTIONS AVAILABLE FOR I,ADDER/PUMPER, AND ALTERNATIVES. FIRE CHIEF DAN KEY DISCUSSED NEEDS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INCLUDING A 100' BUCKET WITH 1 ,000 GALLON CAPACITY, AERIAL PLATFORM, FIRE FIGHTZNG APPARATUS, A FUNDING PLAN FOR THE NEXT 8 TO 10 YEARS WITH INCLUDES PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF A FIRE TRUCK, DONATIONS FROM THE WATER FUND AS A DOWNPAYMENT, AND ANNilAL PAYMENTS, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RATING FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES AND THE EMS VEHICLE . COUNCII�MEMBER BRIZENDINE REPORTED ON ATTENDZNG THE PARKS BOARD MEETING AND SUGGESTED A WORKSHOP BE HELD REGARDING CENTENNIAL PARK AND THE PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE. MAYOR WHITAKER REPORTED THAT LAST FRIDAY, AUGUST 13, THE CITY OF FRIEND5WOOD ROTARY CLUB IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS "OPEN WORLD" RUSSIAN LEADERSHIP PROGFtAM HOSTED 3 DELEGATES FROM RUSSIA FOR A DAY LONG PROGRAM AT CZTY HALL. MR. ED DRISKILL APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO EXPRESS HIS CONCERNS WITH THE SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR THE OLD PHZLLIPS 66 BUILDING ON F.M. 518. CITY MANAGER COX REPORTED THAT THE OPEN SPACE TASK FORCE FINAL REPORT IS COMPLETED AND THAT THE TASK FORCE HAS REQUESTED A WORKSESSION WITH COUNCIL, REPORTED THAT THE 8/16/99 /�-9 � . DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE HAS PREPARED AN INTERIM REPORT, AND REPORTED THAT THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT HAS INITIATED A WEEKLY FORUM ON WEDNESDAY MORNINGS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN BUILDING IN FRZENDSWOOD. THE MOTION WAS APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY. **COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE T99-22 - FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 84-15, SAID ORDINANCE NO. 84-15 BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY, BY GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR DRY CLEANING PLANT, LOCATED AT 417 SOUTH FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, AND IMPOSING CERTAIN CONDITIONS; PROVIDING A PENALTY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,000 FOR EAGH DAY OF VIOLATION OF ANY PROVISION HEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
