MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING THAT WAS HELD ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 1996 AT
7:00 P.M. AT THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 910 S.
FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE, FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT
CONSTITUTING A QUORUM:

MAYOR NEWMAN CALLED THE TOWN MEETING TO ORDER
A PRESENTATION AND AN UPDATE REGARDING EXXON PIPELINE CONVERSION WERE GIVEN
WITH STAFF, THE P2PELINE COMMITTEE AND ATTORNEY BOB RIMA PROVIDING INPUT.
TWENTY THREE GTTIZENS SPOKE REGARDING THE PIPELINE CONVERSIONS WITH THE
FOLLOWING CONCERNS STATED: NO ETHANE IN F12IENDSWOOD, ALTERNATIVE ROUTES,
DEPTH OF PIPELINE, RISK FACTORS, PROPER'I'Y DEVALUATION, DISTANCE AND
RIGHT—OF—WAYS, AND COST TO LITIGI�TE THIS MATT�ER.
MAYOR NWEMAN THANKED THE PIPELINE COMMITTEE AND ATTORNEY BO$ RIMA, STATE
REPRESENTATIVES CRAIG EILAND AND JERRY PATTER��ON FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND
'FOR THEIR WORK, AND ASSURED THE CITIZENS THAT COUNCIL WOULD CONTINUE TO
ADD$ESS THIS TSSUE AS IT IS IMPORTANT FOR THE FUTURE OF THE CITY.
