CITY MANAGER RON COX, CITY PLANNER DAVID HOOVER, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOI� DOUG. KNEUPPER AND l?LANNING AND ZONING COMMISSIONER GLEN CRESS PRESENTED INFORMATION ON THE PLAN WHICH WAS DEVELOPED FROM THE ORIGINAL 1978 PLAN FROM MORMAN MOK & GREEN ENGINEERS, ADOPTED IN 1985 AND THE AMENDED THROUGHF'ARE PLAN ADOPTED TN 1990. CITY MAI�AGER COX REVIEVJED THE PROPOSED PLAN AND THE 1978 PLAN, STA`.CING THAT PLANNING AND ZONING HAS BEEN WORKING ON THE COMPREHENSIVE PL.AN WITH A JOINT MEETING HELD WITH COUNCIL IN LATE SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBEFt. MAYOR NEWMAN ARR=CVED AT THIS TIME. WOULD ANSWER RESIDENTS' CONCERNS, MOVING PARKING FROM REA�l2 QF SPORTS PARK TO MORE AC:CESSIHLE AREA, NEED T� CONSIDER TRI�IFFTC FLOW OF SUBDNISION WHEN BUILT OUT, THE MAIN ZNT�NTION OF THE THROUGHFARE PLAN IS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR RESIDENTS 20 MOVE IN AND OUT OF THE SUBDIVISION5 AND THAT THE PLAN IS JUST A PLAN, A VISION QF WHA2 ROADS ARE TO BE CONNECTED. CITY MANAGER COX �UMMARIZED THE WORK SESSION TO BE THAT IT �TILL REMAINS TO BE DETERMINED WH]wTHER TO DESIGNATE FALCON RIDGE AS A COLLECTOR STREET, TO 836 MOVE THE PARKING IN THE SPORTS PARK, AND THE NEED TO HAVr ANOTHER WORK SESSION ON THE COMPREHENSIVE PL�AN. COMMISSIONER CRESS STATED THAT PLANNING AND ZONING IS WAITING FOR CONIMENTS FROM COUNCIL REGARDING AR�AS OF THE PLAN THAT NEED TO BE REVIEWED AND THEN TO SCHEDULE A PUBLIC I-�EARING AND AI)OPT THE PI�AN WHICH DEVEL�PERS NEED TN ORDER TO F'IT SUBDIVISIONS WITHIN THE THROUGHFAR� PLAN. MAYOR NEWMAN ADJOURNED THIS PORTION OF THE MEETING AT 7:15 PM. WITH COUNCIL TO ADJOURN TO THE COUNCIL CHP;MI3ERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF A TOWN MEE�`ING.
