MEETING IN LEAGUE CITY TUESDAY NTGHT .
MR . HOWARD YEAGER APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND GONGRATULATED STAFF
ON HANDING AND PREPARING THE BUDGET , STATED IT APPEARED THE
DEPARTMENTS SEEM CONSERVATIVE ON REQUESTS BUT STATED HE HAS A
PROBLEM WITH THE LIBRARY EXPENDITURES AND WOULD RECOMMEND A DELAY
IN THE PURCHASE OF SOME OF THE BOOKS WITH SOME OF THE FDNDS
ALLOCATED TO THE SPORTS COMPLEX .
BARBARA GERLACH , C . A . B. CHAIRMAN APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND
PRESENTED THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD GOALS & PROJECTS
PLANNED . MS . GERLACH ANNOUNCED THE SPRING SPARKLE PROGRAM WITH AN
EDUCATION PROGRAM TO PRESERVE AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON HOW TO
PROTEGT OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND ANNOUNCED TWO NEW PROGRAMS
THAT CAB HAS IMPLEMENTED WHICH ARE VOLUNTEER PRIDE AND ADOPT A
BLOCK . MS . GERLACH REPORTED CAB PARTICIPATED IN THE �TH OF JULY
PARADE , KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL PROGRAM , PLANTING OF ESPLANADES ,
BUSINESS YARD OF THE MONTH , TREE GIVE A WAY AND FAUL HAUL A WAY
PROGRAM. MS . GERLACH REPaRTED LOOKING INTO THE STATE , CITY AND
COUNTY ROADS FOR SIGNAGE AND ALSO LOOKING AT ORDINANCE NUMBER 38 ,
NUISANCES AND ALTEANATE METHODS FQR ELIMINATING NUISANCES IN THE
CITY .
CITY MANAGER ADVISED TWO BOY SCOUTS ARE WORKING ON THEIR EAGLE
BADGE BY PAINTING THE DRAIN ZNLETS WITH NO DUMPING - LEADS TO
BAY .
MAYOR NEWMAN STATED A LOT OF SMALL DRAINS ARE CLOGGED IN SOME OF
THE SUBDIVISIONS AND SUGGESTED GAB SPONSOR A "CLEAN UP DRAINS

CITY MANAGEA REPORTED THE 199u STflEET REPAVING PAOJECT IS 28

PERCENT COMPLETE AS OF JULY 31 WITH ONE HALF OF WILLOWICK
CURRENTLY PAVED WITH CONCRETE , AND STEEL IS BEING LAID ON ONE
HALF OF CEDARWOOD AND REPORTED ON THE CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS OF
THE CITY HALL , REPORTING THE PROJECT IS 10 PERCENT COMPLETE AS OF
JULY 31 . CHANGE ORDER N0 . 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $2 , 157 . 80 HAS BEEN
APPROVED TO RELOCATE THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL POLE FOR THE
SWIMMING POOL TO THE REAR OF THE SITE .
COUNCILMEMBER STUART ADVISED THE COMPOSTING PROGRAM HELD ON
SATURDAY HAD APPROXIMATELY 5a IN ATTENDANCE AND THAT TWO MORE
SESSION WERE PLANNED FOR AUGUST 29TH AND AUGUST 30TH .
;� COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE SUGGESTED THAT FOR BETTER COMMUNICATION ,
� THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD NOTICE OF MEETINGS BE SENT TO THE
� HOME OWNER ASSOCIATIONS .
COUNCILMEMBER LOWE ASKED IF THE CERTIFIED TAX ROLL HAS BEEN
RECEIVED WITH CITY MANAGER ADVISING THE ROLL HAS NOT BEEN
RECEIVED YET BUT THE CITY HAS RECEIVED VERBAL INFORMATION ON THE
TAX NUMBERS .
COUNCILMEMBER LOWE ASKED HOW THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE TOWN
MEETING WILL BE HANDLED WITH CITY SECRETARY ADVISING THE CITY
WOULD HANDLE NOTIFYING THE NEWSPAPEAS AND HAVING THE NOTICE
PLACED ON THB AVAILABLE MARQU� ' S .

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE STIPULATION AND JOINT MOTION FOR
APPROVAL OF RATE INCREASE FOR TEXAS-NEW MEXICO POWER COMPANY AND
REQUESTING THE PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION OF TEXAS TO ENTER AN
ORDER SETTING RATES THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE STIPULATION .

HOUSTON , FOR THE TIME PERIOD COMMENCING ON SEPTEMBER 1 , 1993 AND
ENDING ON JULY 14 , 1994 ; ORDERING A BASIC SERVICE RATE REFUND TO
' CABLE SUBSCRIBERS FOR THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 1 , 1993
TO JULY 14 , 199� ; ESTABLISHING A PERMITTED RATE FOR EQUIPMENT
