MAYOR NEWMAN CALLED THE TO ORDER . COUNCIL CONVENED INTO �XECUTIVE �ESSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TEXAS GQVERNMENT CODE , PURSUANT TO SECTION 551 . 072 , DELIBERATION REGARDING REAL PROPERTY . COUNCIL RE-CONVENED IN OPEN SESSION WITH THE FOLLOWING ACTSON TAKEN . **COUNCILMEMBER RALEY MOVED FOR APPROVAL AND RATIFICATION OF CONTRACTS FOR PURCHASE OF 75 ACRES FROM WESLEY WEST INTERESTS . SECONDED BY MAYOR AND ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT . MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY . MAYOR NEWMAN ANNOUNCED COUNCILMEMBER STUART IS ABSENT FROM THE COUNCIL MEETING DUE TO A DEATH IN HIS FAMILY . MAYOA NEWMAN RECOGNIZED OUTGOING COUNCILMEMBER HAROLD RALEY FOR HIS SERVICE ON CITY COUNCIL AND REPRESENTING THE CITY ON THE LIBRARY AND COUNSELING BOARDS . MAYOR NEWMAN STATED COUNCILMEMBER RALEY WILL BE MISSED BUT RECOGNIZED HIS PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS . MAYOR NEWMAN PRESENTED COUNCILMEMBER RALEY WITH A PLAQUE OF APPRECIATIQN , HIS PORTRAIT AND HIS NAMEPLATE . 458 COUNCILMEMBER RALEY THANKED MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS , STATING HE WOULD MISS EVERYONE AND CONGRATULATED THOSE THAT WERE RE-ELECTED OR ELECTED TO COUNCIL . NEWMAN , MAYOR , KITTEN HAJECATE , COUNCILMEMBER POSITION # 1 , TOM MANISON , COUNCILMEMBER POSITION �3 AND ALINE DICKEY , COUNCILMEMBER POSITION �t5 MAYOR NEWMAN THANKED EVERYONE THAT TOOK PART IN THE ELECTION , STATED BEING ELECTED MAYOR TO REPRESENT THIS CITY IS A GREAT HONOR AND LOOKS FORWARD TO WORKING WITH COUNCIL TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST 4UALITY OF LIFE FOR THE CITIZENS OF FRIEI3DSWOOD AND EXPRESSED HER APPRECIATION TO COUNCIL FOR THE TIME EACH COUNCILMEMBER GIVES TO THE CITY . 459 MAY�R NEWMAN RECOGNIZED ELECTION JUDGE RUTH PRENGLE , EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR HER SERVICE OF TWENTY YEARS AS JUDGE OF PRECINCT 260 AND THE LAST FOUR YEARS AS JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION . COUNCILMEMBER DICKEY THANKED HER OPPONENTS FOR A GOOD RACE , THANKED HER FAMILY FOR THEIA SUPPORT AND STATED SHE WILL CONTINUE TO NEED THEIR SUPPORT AND THANKED HER MANY HARD WORKING CAMPAIGN WORKERS . COUNCILMEMBER DICKEY STATED SHE LOOKS FORWARD TO THE COMPLETION OF THE NEW CITY HALL , THE NEW LIBRARY AND THE SPORTS COMPLEX . COUNCILMEMBER DICKEY STATED SHE LEAANED A LOT FROM LISTENING TO CITIZENS DURING HER CAMPAIGN AND STATED SHE WILL CONTINUE TO LISTEN . COUNCILMEMBER DICKEX STATED SHE IS HAPPY SHE WAS ELECTED AND IS PLEASED TO BE OF SERVICE TO THIS COMMUNITY . COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE EXPRESSED HER APPRECIATI�N TO HER SUPPORTERS AND THANKED HER FATHER AND HER DAUGHTER HEATHER FOR THEIR PATIENCE AND CONTINUED SUPPORT .
