A LENGHY DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING DESIGN OF NEW CITY HALL WITH HIDELL ARCHITECTS . MR . ED KEPNER WITH HIDELL ARCHITECTS PRESENTED A SET OF PLANS FOR REVIEW BY COUNCIL AND STAFF . MR . KEPNER REPORTED THE PROJECTED COST FOR THE CITY HALL IS APPROXIMATELY ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS . MR . KEPNER REVIEWED THE SCHEDULE FOR BIDDING WITH THE BID OPENING DATE TENATIVELY SET FOR APRIL 18 WITH A PRE-BID CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON APRIL 28TH. �X E C U T�yE �F�,�SQrI - 52.;_1.�. MAYOR NEWMAN ANNOUNCED THAT SHE AND COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES ATTENDED THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE MEETING ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT , REPORTED ON THE EASTER EGG HUNT HELD AT JIMMY G ' S , REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE G . C . M. & C . MEETING , ATTENAED A MEETTNG REGARDING HURRICANE EVACUATION AOUTES WITH CITY MANAGER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR DAVID COLLINS , REPORTED ON ATTENDTNG A MEETING ON GULF COAST WASTE AUTHORITY EXPANSION PLANS , ATTENDED THE GRAND OPENING OF TACO BELL ALONG WITH OTHER COUNCILMEMBERS AND REPORTED THE NEW CITY HALL PLANS ARE ALMOST COMPLETE AND WILL BE GOING OUT FOR BIDS SOON . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE REPORTED SHE ATTENDED THE TACO BELL GRAND OPENING , REPORTED ON THE TRI-COUNTY YMCA-COUNTY TEEN COURT PRQJECT , REPORTED ON THE PRE-SALES BY THE CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE OF THE HISTaRY BOOK "FRIENDSWOOD - A SETTLEMENT OF FRIENDLY FOLKS" AND ANNOUNCED THAT A FRIENDSWOOD RESIDENT , CAPTAIN HAROLD LYDICK HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO A STATE BOARD BY THE GOVERNOR . COUNCILMEMBER RALEY ANNOUNCED THAT HE IS PLEASED TO SEE THAT THREE PEOPLE HAVE ANNOUNCED AS CANDIDATES FOR HIS COUNCIL POSITIQN , STATING THIS SPEAKS WELL �F THE COMMUNITY AND IS A SIGN OF VOLUNTEER SPIRIT AND INTEREST IN THE COMMUNITY . COUNCILMEMBER STUART REPORTED HE ATTENDED THE C . C . D . D . MEETING , ATTENDED THE G. C .M. & C . MEETING IN SANTA FE WITH A DISCUSSION REGARDING HURRICANE EVACUATION ROUTES , REPORTED ON DISCUSSION WITH EDITOR OF GALVESTON COUNTY DAILY NEWS REGARDING CQVERAGE OF FRIENDSWOOD , REPORTED HE CHAIRED THE TOWN MEETING HELD ON MARCH 28 ALONG WITH COUNCILMEMBERS MANISON AND HAJECATE WITH ABOUT SIXTY RESTDENTS ATTENDING , REPORTED HE ATTENDED THE TACO BELL GRAND OPENING AND STATED THE CITY SHOULD EXPERIENCE APPROXIMATELY $ 10 , 000 IN SALES TAX FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. COUNCILMEMBER MANISON REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE TOWN MEETING AND STATED IT WAS INTERESTING TO HEAR THE VARIED COMMENTS OR CONCERNS , REPORTED THE ROTARY REVERSE DRAW WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL WITH ABOUT $10 , 000 RAISED TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNTTY AND ANNOUNCED HE WILL BE HOSTING AN APPRECIATION RECEPTION FOR CONGRESSMAN JACK BROOKS FOR HIS SUPPORT FOR FUNDING FOR THE SPACE STATION PROGRAM ON THURSDAY APRIL 7TH FROM � ; 45 TO 5 : 30 PM AT CAMP MANISON AND INVITED EVERYONE TO ATTEND . COONCILMEMBER MEASELES REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE MEETING ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE WITH MAYOR NEWMAN , REPORTED ON THE BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING AND REPORTED MEMBERS WILL BE LOOKING AT SIGNAGE FOR BICYCLE TRAFFIC AND REPORTED MAY 15 THROUGH 19 WILL BE BICYCLE AWARENESS WEEK . MARJORIE HOFFMAN APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND EXPRESSEA CONCERN REGARDING VENDORS PARKED ALONG CITY STREETS AND REQUESTED COUNCIL TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER , STATING THAT THE CITY OF HOUSTON HAS AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A PERMIT FOR THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS TRANSACTION. MS . JUANITA WOLF APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO REQUEST COUNCIL ` ASSISTANCE ON THE TAX VALUES THAT CONTINUE TO INCREASE . MAYOR NEWMAN REFERRED MS . WOLF TO MS . JANE SANDERS WITH GALVESTON 'COUNTY CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT . MR . PAUL SCHRADER APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO REPORT ON THE BRIO CLEAN UP , ADVISING THAT ALL HANDING OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS HAS COME TO A HALT , REPORTED THAT ALL FIVE WELLS FOR MUD GULLY ARE ON LINE , PUMPING 8 , 000 GALLONS PER DAY MOVING WATER AWAY FROM MUD GULLY , CORPS OF ENGINEERS HAS REQUESTED ADDITIONAL TESTING OF CONTAMINATION OF WATERWAYS WITH E .
