WHICH WAS EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE . COUNCILMEMBER STUART REPORTED ON THE CLEAR CREEK WATERSHED MEETING HELD LAST WEEK REGARDING FINANCING STORM WATER DISTRICTS , ATTENDED THE G . C .M. & C . MEETING AND ANNOUNCED HE WILL CHAIR THE TOWN MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY NIGHT AT 7 : 00 PM AT THE JUNIOR HIGH SNACK BAR . COUNCILMEMBER RALEY STATED IT WAS GOOD TO BE BACK AFTER BEING OUT THE LAST COUNCIL MEETING AND STATED HE WILL MISS WORKING WITH COUNCIL SINCE HE IS NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE THANKED MAYOR PRO-TEM HAJECATE FOR PERFORMING ADOPTING CEREMONIES FOR THE VISITORS FROM BRAZIL , REPORTEA ON ATTENDING THE H.C .M. & C . MEETING WHICH WAS VERY INFORMATIVE REGARDING ANTI GANG ACTIVITY AND SUGGESTED G . C . M. & C . HAVE MS . OGG AS A SPEAKER AT A FUTURE MEETING , AND REPORTED ON REGULATIONS FROM T . N . R . C . REGARDING REQUIRING OIL RETAILERS TO HAVE CONTAINERS FOR DISPOSAL OF OLD OIL , REPORTED ON THE TRI-Y .M. C . A . GROUND BREAKING FOR A $ 1 . 8 MILLION DOLLAR EXPANSION PROGRAM AND REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE N . L . OF C . AS A MEMBER OF THE SMALL CITIES STEERING COMMITTEE AND STATED SHE APPRECIATED THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT FRIENDSWOOD ON A NATIONAL LEVEL. MR . BILL JONES APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO EXPRESS HIS CONCERN REGARDING A HOME BEING MOVED IN ON RUSTIC LANE WHICH WILL BE SET ON CONCRETE BLOCKS AND QUESTIONED IF THIS MEETS CITY BUILDING CODES . 43 � MEMBERS OF THE FOURTH OF JULY STEERING COMMITTEE REPORTED THE THEME FOR THE 199� �TH OF JULY CELEBRATION WILL BE "SALUTE TO OUR GREAT AMERICAN HEROS" AND PRESENTED A OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMS PLANNED FOR THIS YEAR ' S EVENT . CITY MANAGER ' S REPORTED ON EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING : AWARENESS , RESPONSE , AND COMMAND , REVENUES FROM TRAFFIC FINES , LEFT-TURN BAYS ON FM 518 AT CASTLEWOOD DRIVE , CAB POSTER ART SHOW TO PROMOTE 1994 SPRING SPARKLE , BRIO UPDATE AEGARDING WATER AND SEDIMENT TESTING AESULTS AI3D EMERGENCY RESPONSE , BAY AREA BOULEVARD BSCYCLE LANE FUNDING , AND FM 528 ; CURRENT CONSTRUCTION AND NEW SECTION . 'i COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE ASKED CITY MANAGER TO LOOK INTO SIDEWALKS FROM BAY AREA BOULEVARD TO THE NEW SCHOOL ON FM 528 AND STATED SHE IS PLEASED TO SEE THE BAY TURNS ON FM 518 AND SUGGESTED CAB HOLD UP ON THE LANDSCAPING PROJECT UNTIL THE BAY ' S ARE COMPLETED . COUNCILMEMBER STUART STATED HE IS PLEASED TO SEE THE LEFT TURN LANES AT CASTLEWOOD , ASKED IF THERE WAS A RELEASE AT BRIO LAST WEEK AND WAS THE CITY NOTIFIED AND STATED HE IS CONCERNED WITH THE CONTRADICTION OF REPORTS ON POLLUTION FROM J . J . GOLDMAN WITH BRIO SITE TASK FORCE . CITY MANAGER ADVISED THE RELEASE DID NOT EXCEED THE BRIO THRESHOLD AND THE CITY WAS NOT NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY . CITY MANAGER ADVISED HE HAS CONTACTED J . J . GOLDMAN WITH THE BRIO SITE TASK FORCE AND REQUESTED THE CITY BE NOTIFIED ANYTIME A RELEASE IS GOING TO BE REPORTED TO THE PUBLIC AND MS . GOLDMAN AGREED TO DO S0. COUNCILMEMBER RALEY STATED HE IS CONCERNED WITH THE LOSS OF THE BIKE PATH ON THE EXTENSION OF BAY AREA BOULEVARD AND STATED HE IS SORRY THAT ABRAMS CONSTRUCTION DID NOT GET THE FM 528 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SINCE THEY HAVE DONE SO WELL ON OTHER PROJECTS IN THE CITY AND STATED HE WILL BE GLAD TO SEE THE BRIO PROJECT COMPLETED BECAUSE HE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH WHO IS CHARGED WITH WHAT AND WILL BE GLAD TO SEE THE PROJECT COMPLETED . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE QUESTIONED IF THE CITY HAS THE RIGHT TO DENY RESPONSE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AT BRIO WITH CITX ATTORNEY JOHN OLSON ADVISING THE CITY DID NOT HAVE ANY LIABILITY AND REPORTED THE NEW PHONE BOOKS DO NOT HAVE GALVESTON COUNTY PHONE NUMBERS. COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES ASKED WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE BATCH PLANT NEXT TO FIRE STATION �2 SINCE ABRAMS HAS FINISHED FM 528 PROJECT AND CITY MANAGER ADVTSED THE PLANT IS DOWN AND IS BEING REMOVED . CITY MANAGER ALSO ADVISED THAT ABRAMS WILL ALSO BE CLEANING UP THE WORK YARD THEY MAINTAINED ON FM 528 . *#COUNCILMEMBER MANISON MOVED FOR APPROVAL OF EXECUTION OF CONTRACT WITH J . T . DUNKIN AND ASSOCIATES TO PREPARE A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS RECOMMENDED BY PLANNING AND ZONING � 3 � COMMISSION .
