WATER FEATURES , SEWER LINES , CURB LINES , RETENTION OR ISOLATING
PONDS , LOCATION OF CONDENSING UNITS ( THREE ON EACH END OF
BUILDING) , POSSIBLY USE UNDERG�OUND CULVERTS UNDER PARKING LOT ,
REVISED COUNCIL CHAMBERS WITH CENTER ISLE TO SEAT 91 , HANDICAP
AREA IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS , ROOM HEIGHTS WILL BE TEN FEET FOR

MAYOR NEWMAN ANNOUNCED COUNCILMEMBER MANISON IS IN WASHINGTON
WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS , ANNOUNCED
COUNCILMEMBER LOWE IS SERVING ON THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES
SMALL CITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE . MAYOR NEWMAN REPORTED THAT SHE
AND COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES IS SERVING ON THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL
LEAGUE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT . MAYOR
NEWMAN REPORTED THE CITY IS STILL WORKING TO SET UP A MEETING
WITH CITY OF HOUSTON REGARDING ANNEXATION OF HERITAGE PARK AREA ,
REPORTED MANY CITIZENS AREA WORKING ON THE PRELIMINARY PLANNING
FOR PROJECT PROM AND PROJECT GRADUATION , REPORTED THERE IS A NEW
C . C . I . S . D . MIDDLE SCHOOL PLANNED ON FM 528 WHICH WILL BE NAMED
WESTSIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL , SHOULD FINALIZE ONE PIECE OF RIGHT OF WAY
FOR FM 528 THIS WEEK , REPORTED THE CONTRACT FOR THE WIDENING OF
FM 528 SHOULD BE LET IN MARCH AND REPORTED SHE HAS RECEIVED
REQUEST FROM RESIDENTS IN FALCON RIDGE SUBDIVISION REGARDING
EXCESSIVE SPEEDING ON FM 528 TN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA .
PAUL SCHRADER , CITY LIAISON FOR THE BRIO SUPERFUND SITE ,
PRESENTED A REPORT ON A MEETING HELD TODAY WITH STATE
REPRESENTATIVE MIKE MARTIN AND OTHER AREA REPRESENTATIVES . MR .
SCHRADER REPORTED THAT STATE REPRESENTATIVE MARTIN WILL ASK
GOVERNOR RICHARDS TO INTERCEDE WITH E . P . A . MR . SCHRADER REPORTED
ON SAMPLE TEST RESULTS OF MUD GULLY AND CLEAR CREEK AND PRESENTED
A SCHEDULE FOR ADDITIONAL TESTING , SCHEDULED MINI BURNS AND PUMPS
TO BE INSTALLED FOR MUD GULLY . MR . SCHRADER REPORTED E . P . A . HAS
ADOPTED NEW TEXAS QUALITY STANDARDS WHICH REQUIRES A HIGHER LEVEL
OF CLEAN UP WHICH WILL REQUIRED OFFICIALS TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK AT
THE CONSENT DECREE TO DETERMINE IF ADDITIONAL AN MORE EXTENSIVE
CLEAN UP WILL NECESSARY . MR . SCHRADER STATED CLEAN UP WILL NOT
BE INTERRUPTED DURING THIS REVIEW PROCESS .
COUNCILMEMBER LOWE EXTENDED HER CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FAMILIES
OF THE YEAR THAT WERE ANNOUNCED ON JANiIARY 28 AND STATED AS AN
ELECTED OFFICIAL , SHE HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY A NUMBER OF
CANDIDATES FOR THE NOVEMBER ELECTIONS , WHICH IS EXTREMELY
INTERESTING TO SEE POLITICS AT WORK .
COUNCILMEMBER RALEY CONGRATULATED MAYOR NEWMAN , COUNCILMEMBER
MEASELES AND COUNCILMEMBER LOWE FOR THEIR SERVICE TO TML AND NLC ,

AND REPORTED ON MEETING WITH THE COUNSELING BOARD AND THEY ARE
HAVE ALMOST COMPLETED THE R . F . P ' S . COUNCILMEMBER RALEY ANNOUNCED
HE WILL NOT SEE RE-ELECTION DUE TO ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY AT
THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON .
COUNCILMEMBER STUART ANNOUNCED HE IS AS CANDIDATE FOR GALVESTON
COUNTY COMMISSIONER PRECINCT 4 AND WILL NOT HAVE AN OPPONENT IN
THE PRIMARY AND REPORTED HE ATTENDED THE G . C .M. & C . MEETING IN
TEXAS CITY WITH A PRESENTATION ON THE GALVESTON BAY ESTUARY
PROPOSED PAOGRAM BEING MADE WHICH WILL BE MADE TO CITIES UPON
REQUEST.
COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES REPORTED THE GALVESTON BAY PLAN WILL BE ON

REPORTED THE DICKINSON BAYOU PHASE THREE MEETING WILL BE THIS

COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE ANNOUNCED THAT COUNCILMEMBER LOWE HAS BEEN
SELECTED AS A DUCHESS FOR THE GALVESTON MADRI GRAS , REPORTED ON
ATTENDING THE CLEAR LAKE AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BANQUET
HONORING GOVERNOR RICHARDS AND ANNOUNCED SHE IS FILING FOR RE-
ELECTION FOR POSITION 1 .

ACCOUNTANTS PRESENTED A SUMMARY OF THE GENERAL PURPOSE FINANCIAL
