COUNCILMEMBER STUART REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE SENIOR CITIZENS MEETING AT THE ATRIUM AND COMPLIMENTED COORDINATOR YVETTE RE'lES , COORDINATOR FOR PUTTING TOGETHER THIS PROGRAM, STATED INFORMATION IS NEEDED ON THE COUNCIL ON AGING PROGAAMS AND REPORTED ON TWO RIDERS ON THE APPROPRIATIONS BILL FOR THIS PROGRAM AND REQUESTED MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO CALL LEGISLATORS TO SUPPORT THE RiDERS , REPORTED ON PARTICIPATING IN THE CELEBRITY READING PROGRAM AT WESTWOOD ELEMENTARY , ATTENDING THE C . C . R . F . COMMITTEE MEETING IN PEARLAND AND MET THE NEW C . C .D . D . ENGINEER JOHN BRUTON AND STATED HE FEELS A GREAT DEAL WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED WTTH A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CITY , C . C . D . D . , G . D . D . #3 AND H . C . A . D . . COUNCILMEMBER MEASELES REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE DICKINSON BAYOU WATERSHED MEETING AND REPORTED THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS ARE REVIEWING THE PROPOSED PLAN . COUNCILMEMBER HAJECAgE ' ��REPORTED ON THE SUCCESS OF PROJECT PROM WITH OVER 250 PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS WORKING ON THIS PROGRAM . MS . BURKE REQUESTED CLARIFICATION ON P & R MOVING FORWARD ON THE TWO ACRES ON SHADWELL FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AND CONTINUATION OF THE JOGGING TRAILS AND 2 287 STATED THE P&R BOARD HAS NOT MET TO CONSIDER LOCATION OF THE COUNSELING SERVICES . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE EXPRESSED HER VIEWS REGARDING THE IRREGULARTTY TN THE BIDDING PROCESS AND STATED THE NEED FOR A POLICY TO BE DEVELOPED . MR . ROBERT MOTT , DELINQUENT TAX ATTORNEY APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL AND PRESENTED A PROGRESS REPORT ON DELINQUENT TAX COLLECTIONS . MR . MOTT REPORTED THERE WERE 179 ORIGINAL DELINQUENT CASES WITH 31 INVOLVING INTERVENTION, 133 CASES PAID , 35 WENT TO JUDGMENT AND 57 WENT TO BANKRUPTCY . MS . LISA LUNDQUIST REPRESENTING LAURELFIELD SUBDIVISION APPEARED li, BEFORE COUNCIL AND PRESENTED A PETITION FOR FOR PLACEMENT OF ' SUBDIVISION ENTRANCE SIGN ON CITY EASEMENT . MAYOR NEWMAN ADVISED THE CITY MANAGER HAS DISCUSSED THIS MATTER WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY AND HAS BEEN ADVISED AN AMENDMENT TO THE SIGN ORDINANCE WOULD BE NECESSARY AND REQUESTED THE HOMEOWNERS TO WORK WITH THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY PLANNER ON THIS MATTER . SPREADING OAKS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2 , 385 TO HUBCO , INC . , REPORTEA ON SECOND ANNUAL SPRING RETREAT FOR JUNE 1 , 1993 , PARKS AND RECREATION HAPPENTNGS , LIBRARY HAPPENINGS , MEETINGS WITH HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATIONS ' REPRESENTATIVES AND PRESENTED A SFI PROJECT UPDATE AND REPORTED OUR CEMETERY BILL HAS PASSED THE HOOSE AND IS SCHEDULED FOR SENATE HEARINGS . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT HURRICANE SEASON BEGINS JUNE 1 AND THAT THE NEW FIRE MARSHAL/EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORAINATOR MAY NOT BE FAMILTAR WITH FRIENDSWOOD OPERATIONS. CITY MANAGER ADVISED HE HAS MET WITH FIRE MARSHAL COLLINS AND BRIEFED HTM ON FRIENDSWOOD OPERATIONS AND THAT IN THE EVENT OF A HURRICANE IN THE NEAR FUTURE THAT CHIEF STOUT WILL SERVE AS ASSISTANT EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR TO ASSIST FIRE MARSHAL COLLINS . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE ASKED ABOUT THE RAISED MANHOLE ON FM 2351 WITH CITY rIANAGER ADVISING THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS AND ADJUSTMENTS ARE BEING MADE . COUNCILMEMBER LOWE EXPRESSED CONCERNS WITH THE SIGN ORDINANCE , STATING WITH THE LAST AMENDMENT , SOME OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS WERE NOT FINSSHED AND WOULD LTKE TO SEE THE CITY LOOK AT THOSE AMENDMENTS WITH OTHER POSSIBLE AMENDMENTS . MAYOR NEWMAN EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING THE NUMBER OF OPEN HOUSE SIGNS AND EXPRESSED THE NEED TO MAKE THE BUILDERS AWARE OF THE SIGN ORAINANCE REGULATIONS REGARDING THIS MATTER . MAYOR NEWMAN REPORTED THERE HAVE BEEN CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED REGARDING THE 3 , _ --- 28 � RESURFACING OF THE SWIMMING POOL WITH PARKS AND RECREATION COORDINATOR JON BAANSON ADVISED THE RAIN HAS DELAYED THIS PROJECT BUT THAT THE POOL WAS SCHEDULED TO OPEN TODAY . �*GOUNCILMEMBER RALEX MOVED TO REJECT AND REBID FOR SALE OF PRaPERTY OWNED BY CITY 4F FRIENDSWOOD , FRIENDSWOOD ISD , CLEAR CREEK DRAINAGE DISTRICT , AND COUNTY OF GALVESTON KNOWN AS LOT 10 , BLOCK 2 , COWARD CAEEK SUBDIVISION , SECTION 5 , TO BE SOLD TO HIGHEST BIDDER AND TO DEVELOP POLTCY FOR SALE OF PROPERTY FOR DELIHQUENT TAXES .
