MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL THAT
WAS HELD ON AUGUST 3 , 1992 AT 7 : 00 PM AT FRIENDSWOOD CITY HALL ,
COUNCIL CHAMBERS , 109 WILLOWICK , FRIENDSWOOD , TEXAS WITH THE
�3 FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM :

MR . SANCHEZ ACCEPTED THE �,$.� STAR SPIRIT AWARD , THANKED THE CITY
AND INTRODUCED HIS FAMILY .
MAYOR NEWMAN �,�,OCI,�AIMED AUGUST u , AS "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT" IN THE
CITY OF FRTENDSWOOD AND URGED ALL CITIZENS TO GO OUT AND MEET
THEIR NEIGHBORS .
MAYOR NEWMAN ISSUED A CHALLENGE� FOR THE CITY TO BE A PRO-ACTIVE
CITY , TO HANDLE PROHLEMS BEFORE THEY PRESENT THEMSELVES , REPORTED
ON C�MPOSTING INFORMATION AND THE DON � T RAKE AND BAG PROGRAM,
REPORTED THE BUDGET WAS DELIVERED TO COUNCIL THIS WEEK , THE FIRST
WORKSHOP WILL BE MONDAY AND REQUESTED COUNCIL TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS
TO CITY MANAGER BY THURSDAY , ASKED FOR A VOLUNTEER TO SERVE ON
THE G .M. C . & C BY-LAWS COMMITTEE AND REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE
T . M . L . CONFERENCE .
COUNCILMEMBER HAJECATE REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE T .M. L .
CONFERENCE , REPORTED THE MEETINGS WERE VERY INFORMATIVE AND
THAT SHE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS .

PROJECTS IN THE 92/93 BUDGET , REPOATED SENATOR CHET BROOKS WILL
BE THE GUEST SPEAKER AT THE NEXT CHAMBER MEETING AND ANNOUNCED
THAT COUNCILMEMBER FRANKdVICH HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO THE EAST SAN
JACINTO BRAZOS COASTAL BASIN ASSESSMENT ADVISORY GROUP .
COUNCILMEMBER STUART REPORTED ON COMPOSTING PROGRAMS , REPORTED ON
THE CONDITIONS OF THE RESTROOMS AT STEVENSON PARK AND REPORTED ON
THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ON RECYCLING .
CpUNCILMEMBER FRANKOVICH REPORTED HE ATTENDED THE G . C . M. & C .
MEETING AND REPORTED THEY ARE WORKING ON SOME VERY IMPORTANT
PROJECTS AND THAT HE LOOKS FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THIS GROUP .
MS . RHONDA GUZZETTA APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO ANNOUNCE HER
CANDICACY FOR FISD SCHOOL BOARD .
MAYOR NEWMAN URGED EVERYONE TO GET OUT AND VOTE IN THE SCHOOL
BOARD ELECTION .
MR . BILL FUSS APPEARED BEFORE COUNCIL TO DISCUSS WRECKER SERVICE
ORDINANCE AND CABLE TELEVISION .
CITY MANAGER REPORTED ON HEALTH INSURANCE RENEWAL , HOUSING
ACTIVITY AND ESTIMATED POPULATION , TRAFFIC LIGHT INSTALLATION ON
FM 518 AT WINDING WAY , CABLE TV SYSTEM REVIEW , REPORTED BLACKHAWK
SEWER PLAN IS PROVIDED WATER AND IS METEAED AND REPORTED ON HIS
BRIO TRIP TO LITTLE ROCK , ARKANSAS TO VIEW THE SUPERFUND
INCINERATOR SITE .
