AT FRIENDSWOOD CITY � HALL , 109 WILLOWICK FRIENASWOOD , TEXAS WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT CONSTITUTING A QUORUM: MAYOR PAUL W. SCHRADER MAYOR PRO-TEM HAROLD RALEY COUNCILMEMBER RON RITTER CITY MANAGER RON COX CITY SECRETARY DELORIS ARCHER ABSENT FROM THE MEETING WERE COUNCILMEMBERS MEASELES , NEWMAN, STUART AND FRANKOVICH . MAYOR SCHRADER CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER . MAYOR SCHRADER STATED THE FRIENDSWOOD CITY COUNCIL RECENTLY HELD GOAL SETTING MEETINGS AND ESTABLISHED OBJECTIVES TO MEET WITH THE TWO SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MEETING TO AISCUSS CITY SUPPORT OF ACADEMIC/EDUCATIONAL .PROGRAMS . MEMBERS PRESENT FROM FRIENDSWOOD INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES WERE PRESIDENT BILL TODD , DORIS HEARD , KENT BALLARD , MARILYN DORION , DAVID HEARN , CONNIE CLINE AND SUPERINTENDENT DR . GARY CLAY . PRESIDENT BILL TODD READ A PREPARED LIST OF PROJECTS THAT COULD � BE JOINTLY SUPPORTED BY THE SCHOOL AND THE CITY. MAYOR SCHRADER y' AND COUNCILMEMBERS ADDED TO THE SUGGESTED PROJECTS AS FOLLOWS : A ) COORDINATE SCHOOL/CITY LIBRARY FACILITIES . B) COMBINE PARKS AND RECREATION/COMMUNITY EDUCATION EFFORTS . C ) YEAR ROUND EDUCATION/INNER SESSIONS. D) COORDINATE EFFORTS FOR PROSECUTION OF JUVENILE VANDILISM/CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. E) IMPLEMENT STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY . F) DARE PROGRAM AT JUNIOR HIGH LEVEL . G) CONTINUE NEW FOCUS FR4GRAM. H) CONTINUE OPEN LINES OF COMMUNICATION WITH SCHOOL/CITY . I ) LOCATIQN OF NEW FACILITIES SUCH AS PARKS IN PROPOSED NEW SCHOOL FACILITY . J ) FRIENDWOOD LAKE - FIELD TRIPS/BOTANTICAL GARDENS. K) FRIENDSWOOD SWIMMING POOL- COOPERATIVE EFFORT TO HEAT AND COVER . 118 L) FUNDING FOR SIDEWALKS . M) DITCHlCULVERT WORK AT CLINE ELEMENTARY AND THE HIGH SCHOOL . N ) TRAFFIC CONTROL AT PROPOSED NEW SCHOOL FACILITY . 0 ) BICYCLE TRAILS . Y) COMPLIMENTED RENWICK PARK PAVING DISCUSSIQN WAS HELD REGARDING A PLAN FOR RESPONSE TO VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS , GAP IN JUNIOR HIGH LEVEL FOR DRUG PROGRAM, POLICE DEPAATMENT BAND WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR JUNIOR HIGH DANCES, DARE PROGRAM AND NEW FOCUS PROGRAM WILL BE HIGHLIGHTED AT NEXT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING . THE MEMBERS OF COUNCIL AND THE SCHOOL BOARD AGREED THE CITY AND SCHOOL WORK WELL TOGETHER AND RECOMMENDED JOINT WORKSHOP MEETINGS BE HELD AT LEAST ANNUALLY .
