MAYOR SCHRADER PROCLAIMED WFER OF' NIAY 12� - MAY 18 AS EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICE WEEK AND PRESENTED THE PROCLAMATION TO LISA CAMP.
MS . CAMP REPORTED QN "CAMP BANDAGE" THAT WAS RECENTLY HELD AT
WEBSTER PRIMARY WHERE 350 CHILDREN WERE TAUGHT TO HANDLE MINOR
SCRAPES AND BRUISES .
MR . GARY KRCH APPEARED $EFORE COUNCIL REGARDING OBTAINING A
BUILDING PERMIT ANU MAVON SCHRAUER R�FERRED HIS REQUEST TO CITY
MANAGER .
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING RISK MANAGEMENT AND INSURANCE
CONSULTING SERVICES FOR PROPERTY , CASUALTY ,AND WORKER �S
COMPENSATION COVERAGE WITH PRESENTATION BY ROBERT W. LAZARUS ,
A .A .M. , PRESIDENT/SENIOR CONSULTANT , RWL & ASSOCIATF:S . THIS ITEM
WILL BE PLACED ON THE NEXT COUNCIL AGENDA FOR CONSIDERATTON.
DISCUSSION REGARDING IMPACT �'EES FOR AREAS NaT DESIGNATED AS
S1:NC3LE FANiILY RESIDENTIAL WITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR �
JIMMIE THOMPSON PRESENTING INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROCESS FOR
REVIEW OF THE IMPACT FEES . THE C . I .P. COMMITTEE WILL BE RE-
CONVENED TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE C . I .P . FEE
SCHE:llUI.�� AND WC�ill.n 'I'AI:I: APPROXIMATELY 60 DAYS. COUNCIL DID NOT
OBJECT TO THIS REVIEW.
DISCUSSION WAS HELD REGARDING COMMUNITY-ORIENTED POLICING WITH
POLICE CHIEF STOUT AND LTEUTENANT LOESER PRESENTING INFORMATION

ON THIS PROGRAM. CHIEF STOUT STATED THIS PROGRAM MAY RESULT IN
A SLOWER RESPONSE TIME TO NON-EMERGENCY CALLS BUT THE TIME SPENT
IN THE COMMUNITY WILL RESULT IN A GREATER CITIZEN SUPPORT, MORE
AND BETTER INFORMATION AND IMPROVED SOLUTION RATES FOR CRIME .
MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED ON THE RECENT CORRESPONDENCE FROM STORER
CABLE COMMUNICATIONS WHERE THERE WILL BE A NEW SERVICE PROVIDED �'
FOR AS LITTLE AS $1 . 00 PER MONTH THRU 1992 AND THAT THEY PLAN TO
REALIGN THE CHANNELS.
MAXOR SCHRADER STATED THE R�COUNT PROCESS AS V�:RY EDUCATIONAL , '�
THE FIVE RECOUNT COMMITTEE MEMBERS DID �AN EXCELLENT JOB AND HOW
EXCITING THE RECOiJNT PROCESS WAS. MAYOR SCHRADER ALSO
COMPLIMENTED STAFF ON A JOB WELL DONE .
COUNCILMEMBER WICKLANDER STATED IT WAS VERY INTERESTING TO SEE
HOW THE RECOUNT PROCESS WORKS AND HE WAS VERY PROUD TO HAVE BEEN
A PART OF THAT PROCESS AND STATED HE IS NOT UNHAPPY WITH THE
OUTCOME .
