MAYOR SCHRADER LED THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.
MAYOR SCHRADER ANNOUNCED THREE YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WERE HONORED
THIS EVENING BY THE CITY AND TEXAS COMMERCE $ANK-FRIENDSWOOD FOR
FOR BEING ALERT AND REPORTING A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE IN THE
VICINITY OF THE BANK. . ULZ'IMATELY TWO PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FOR
OUTSTANDING WARRANTS INV�LVING BANK ROBBERY OF ANOTHER BANK ,
THEREFORE , POSSIBLY STOPPING THE NOBBERY OF T . C .B. -FRIENDSWOOD .
MAYOR PROCLAIMED MONDAY � APRIL 22 � 1991 AS "THIRD ANNUAL "ARC"
GOLF" TOURNAMENT DAY AND APRIL 20 AS EARTH DAY/HOUSEHOLD
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS COLLECTION DAY AND TH� WEEK OF APRIL 15TH AS
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK AND PRESENTED THE PROCLAMATION TO
KATHLEEN HOLT .
MAYOR SCHRADER ANNOUNCED THE MAY MEETING SCHEDULE DUE TO THE
ELECTION WILL BE AS FOLLOWS , FIRST MEETING AFTER THE ELECTION , NO
BUSINESS WILL BE CONDUCTED EXCEPT TO CANVASS THE VOTES , THE
SECOND MEETING WILL BE A WORKSHOP AND THE THIRD MEETING WILL BE A
REGULAR MEETING. MAYOR SCHRADER REPORTED THE SURFACE WATER
PUMFAGE FOR LAST MONTH WAS 92� WITH A TOTAL FOR THE YEAR AT 75� ,
REPORTED ON ATTENDING THE CLEAR CREEK REGIONAL FLOOD CONTAOL
COMMITTEE MEETING LAST WEEK FOR COUNCILMEMBER STUART A1VU REPORTED
THEY ARE PROGRESSING VERY WELL , CLOVERFIELD AIRPORT MEETING
SCHEDULED FOR LAST WEDNESDAY WAS CANCELED AND HAS BEEN
RESCHEDULED FOR MAY 8TH AT PEARLAND CITY HALL, PROVIDED A COPY OF
THE BRIO CONSENT DECREE FOR COUNCTL RE;VIFW AND REFERRED
CORRESPONDENCE FROM RESIDENTS OF EL DORADO SUBDIVISION REGARDING

CO.UNCILMEMBER NEWMAN REPORTED SHE HAS RECEIVED VERY POSITIVE
REMARKS REGARDING THE ORDINANCE REGULATING MINORS IN POSSESSION
OF OPEN CONTAINERS AND REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION AT A LATER DATE
FOR DISPOSITION OF S�SQUICENTENNIAL FUNDS TO BE SET ASIDE FOR ,,
PARKS AND RECREATION FOR EQUIPMENT AND FOR THE HISTORY BOOK
COMMITTEE . '
COUNCILMEMBER STUART ANNOUNCED THERE WILL BE A PROGRAM ON DRUG ,x
AND ALCOHOL ABUSE ON CHANNEL 39 ON APRIL 20TH ENTITLED "OVER THE
INFLUENCE" WHICH WILL BE PRESENTED IN TWO PARTS AND� THANKED MAYOR
SCHRADER FOR ATTENDING THE CLEAR CREEK REGIONAL FLOOD CONTROL ,
COr7MITTEE MEETING IN HIS ABSENCE .
COUNCILMEMBER RALEY STATED HE HAD ALSO RECEIVED GOOD FEED BACK
FROM THE ORDINANCE ON MINORS IN POSSESSSON OF OPEN CONTAINERS ,
REPORTED THE ATTENDED THE ANNUAL TEXAS MUNICIPAL CLERKS
ASSOCIATION BANQUET WITH CONGRESSMAN JACK FIELDS PRESENTING A
PROGRAM ON THE PERSIAN GULF - BEHIND THE SCENE AND REPORTED ON
LEGISLATION BEING CONSIDERED THAT WOULD PUT NEW RESTRICTIONS ON
ELECTION JUDGES AND CLERKS. MAYOR SCHRADER REQUESTED

COUNCILMEMBER FRANKOVICH REPORTED MANHOLES OVERLOWING IN IMPERIAL
ESTATES AT MARY ' S CROSSING DURING THE LA3T RAIN AND ASKED THE
CITY MANAGER LOOK AT THIS AREA , REPORTED ON PRESENTATION BY RON
NEIGHBORS FROM THE SUBSIDENCE vISTRICT WHEREBY THE SURFACE WATER
SCHEDULES ARE BEING UPDATED , REPORTED ON READING AB�UT A
MORATORIUM UN CONSTRUCTION BY BRAZORIA COUNT ON THE UPPER
PORTION OF COWARDS CREEK WATERSHED WHICH WILL IMPACT THE
PLANS FOR 7'HE DIVERSIONARY DITCH AND THE BAKERS PROPERTY .
COUNCILMEMBER NEWMAN REPORTED A MANHOLE OVERFLOWING AT WHITTIER
AND APPLEBLOSSOM AND REQUESTED CITY MANAGER LOOK INTO THIS
MATTER .
CAROLYN WRIGHT , EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR , CHAMBER OF COMMERCE APPEARED
BEFORE COUNCIL TO ANNOUNCE "FRIENDSWOOD NIGHT WITH THE ASTROS" '
WILL BE ON t9AY 23RD WITH A BUS CARAVAN LEAVING FRIENDSWOOD AT
5 : 00 PM FROM STONESTHROW SHUPPING CENTER AND PRESENTED ASTRO ' S
CAPS TO MAYOR , COUNCIL AND STAFF MEMBERS.
JIM WOLTZ , PRESIDENT OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHALLENGED THE
MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL AND CITY STAFF TO A SOFTBALL GAME AGAINST
THE CHAMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT THE SPORTS PARK ON APRIL 27TH.
RICK AGEE PRESENTED THE FOURTH OF JULY STEERING COMMITTEE REPORT
ON THE FESTIVITIES PLANNED FOF2 THE FOURTH OF JULX. MR . AGEE
ANNOUNCED THE THEME WILL BE "OPERATION FREEDOM" TO HONOR THOSE
THAT SERVED IN THE GULF WAR AND VETERANS OF PAST WARS.
